I recently switched from the original messenger bag to the Everyday Backpack. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made (hyperbole much...) The pack is sleek, comfortable, versatile, beautiful, and fits so much more than I expected. Favorite feature, ease of access to whatever I'm trying to find.
I bought the everyday backpack v2 a few months ago and have used it extensively. This backpack is really well designed but falls short (in my opinion) in three areas: 1. The straps are too thin and you can feel the weight of the items you are carrying after a few hours of use. 2. The design of sternum strap leaves a lot to be desired as it is dry fiddly to use. 3. The design of the internal dividers is very innovative but I believe the PD engineers should have designed them to be stiffer and more able to stand up and take the weight of the gear stowed when folded up. I do not feel very confident that my expensive camera gear is entirely protected when in transit. Incorporating these dividers into the camera cubes and making the cubes compatible with the Everyday Backpack as a self contained more protective solution is a much better idea.
First: This backpack is awesome. The multiple carry grips on top and the sides and the magnetic secured main carry straps make the everyday use an ease while commuting. The flex fold divers and side access zippers tame the chaos in this big backpack. There are just minor details I don't like on this overall fantastic product: the sternum strap is annoying sometimes and the color (I have the blue one) of the outer shell is weak against subway walls (but the worn style isn't too bad I guess ;-). Very good backpack for everyday use, commuting an transporting my camera gear on weekends and events.
I bought my first Everyday Backpack when it was launched. The versatility, the quality, the love to every tiny detail, the feel, the overall experience, the love which went into this product could be felt immediately. Thank you Peak Design Team for one of the most amazing product line ever made.
Very happy to have picked up this backpack, as it’s served me well already both for photography and use for unrelated work. Customer service from PD was fantastic when the package was taken from my doorstep…they were very responsive and sent a replacement right away.
I bought this bag about 2 months ago after thinking about for many months. I'm new to photography and now realize that there's lots of stuff that I need to carry. I did research on more bags than I can remember. This bag was my choice and I am thrilled with it.
I bought this backpack about 6 months ago, and it is perfect. I have used it for everyday use in college, carrying my gear while doing event photography and videography, traveling, and long hiking/exploring trips. You have to get used to the side access, but once you do you can access your items so much more easily, even on the go without having to take your backpack off. Also, the way it is customizable to fit ANYTHING is so amazing! I usually keep two sections on the bottom for my usual every day carry items, and then I leave the top section open. If I have something small like a 50mm lens to toss in my bag, I can put up a divider and keep it secure. If I have something large like several jackets to toss in my bag, the extendable top flap can help me fit it all in there easily. And if I really need more space, the external straps help me carry it all. I am yet to run into a situation where I need to carry something and have not been able to fit it securely in my bag. The carry straps on the outside (top and sides) help me take it off and move it around super easily, and I don't have to be super careful to set it down gently becuase I know my gear is padded and well protected with this bag. I could not be happier with this backpack!!
