Great backpack, but....

I bought this pack for a trip to Alaska, plus envisioning using it throughout Europe. The pluses are that it is exceptionally well made and has some nice features. I wound up rolling up the divider in the middle and using it as one unit. With the packing cubes, I could pack and unpack easily (6 hotels/hostels) in 8 nights.
The negatives are that I ignored the "it's too heavy" comments. I also noticed that mostly all of the reviews are from men. I truly believe that this pack is more suited for men. I'm 5"7" and 137 lbs. It is heavy (about 5 lbs) empty. The waist strap didn't stay tight while I was wearing it. When it was packed for my trip, I had 18 lbs in it. I'm going to see if my husband wants to use it, otherwise I'll have to sell it.
I also bought the packing cubes, shoe bag, tech pouch and toiletry kit. I absolutely love the toiletry kit and compression packing cubes. They are going on my third trip this weekend.
Peak Design is a great product and when they come out with a pack designed for women, I will be there checking it out and hopefully buying it!
I absolutely love this backpack. I have the duffel as well, and thought about not buying this because it seemed redundant. Holy cow was I wrong! This backpack is so much different and more usable on a daily basis. I leverage the camera cubes and to be able to plop those in and go is huge for me. I really wish I would have bought this sooner! I should also note that I sold my Everyday Backpack on the Used Peak Marketplace and used those funds to purchase this. I think this backpack is way better than the ED version.
I absolutely love this bag! Peak Design manages to think of absolutely everything and they have a solution for every problem. Love the modular system and how the bag can collapse and expand. Brilliantly designed!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Five Star Bag

If you wanted to only ever own one travel bag, the Travel Backpack would be a good choice. Sturdy and comfortable, with an abundance of thoughtful features, this bag can do anything from a weekend trip to a backpacking adventure. The harness system is minimalist, but the bag still rests comfortably even when it's full of clothes. And Peak Design haven't skimped on the details - as someone who has owned a great many bags over the years, I was surprised by consistently good the workmanship was on this one. No corner cutting that I can see. The bag should last for years. Possibly longer.
The only caveat here is the price. The Travel Backpack isn't overpriced, but it isn't exactly a bargain either. Peak Design knows what the bag is worth, and they're charging you for it. I can't rate the value higher, because this is a five star bag, with the exact price that you'd expect from a five star bag. If your travels require such a bag, you could do far worse than choosing this one.
