Great Motorcycle Backpack
on November 25, 2019

I've owned a 20L Everyday Backpack for over a year and it's been my main bag for camera, drone and everything else. After traveling with it on my motorcycle, it didn't have the volume to carry gear and clothes and shoes. Also, the straps on the Everyday Backpack were hard to put on with a motorcycle jacket.
I used the Travel 45L with a small camera cube, change of clothes and shoes on a 3 hour motorcycle ride to Monterrey Bay. The weight was balanced and the bag had very little drag. The straps were very comfortable and did not fatigue my shoulders. After riding for a few miles, I forgot I was wearing the bag! I had plenty of room for more clothes and gear, but kept it light because it was a long trip. I like the waist straps much more than the ones on the Everyday Backpack because they offer more support and I loved having my Capture Clip connected. The Capture Clip also can stay attached when the strap is stored in the back slot of the bag. The handles are located in great places to grab and go and the additional straps have anchor points all over the bag to attach large items and they clip on with a confident snap feeling. This bag is much more comfortable than the Everyday Backpack even being over twice the size which I did not expect. This might replace the Everyday Backpack for me in the long run! Great bag! Good job, Peak Design!

Early...but great so far!

I do bi-monthly business travel, with some long-weekend family travel thrown in, as well...and had grown tired of lugging around both a roller suitcase AND my messenger bag. Enter the Travel Backpack. As I purchased the Travel Backpack recently, I've only had the occasion to utilize two times...but so far so good. I love the features, although I'll admit to being a little overwhelmed by the amount of features - sometimes wonder if I'm utilizing the bag as intended by the clever designers. 'Probably get better at this over time. To maximize the utility of the Travel Backpack, you really do need packing cubes/bags...which I don't have yet, but do plan on buying eventually.

Great travel and everyday bag. Efficient and good looking. The zip are a bit tough on the sides access for me but I adapted to it.

45L everything I needed and more

I searched for a couple months (reading reviews/watching videos) trying to find the best bag for my needs. Well I found it! The 45L with the camera cube and a small cube worked perfectly for my camera and mavic pro. I out on a boat 90% of the time taking photos and needed something to handle al my gear in one bag.....and that was weather proof. This bag hasn't let me down. I am able to carry my camrea with a telephoto lens, all my camera accessories, all my drone accessories, my laptop, and all my go pro accessories with no problem. This is the perfect bag for my needs. It also makes a great over night travel bag.

Solid entry but not as magical as the everyday backpack.

There's a lot that PD got right about this backpack and you'll no doubt see it all here, this review is about what it didn't get right.
The travel backpack does what the name says, it goes traveling. For day to day use it's too big and too cumbersome.
Access to the main compartment is awkward via the side panels which don't flip open completely and don't zip/unzip smoothly when the backpack is in 35L mod. Opening the back panel requires you to lay the backpack on a flat surface.
The materials feel different not in a good way. Everything has a cheaper, more plasticky feel to it. Prob has to do with more enviro-friendly recycled materials, which is commendable. I just wish I could have responsible materials that felt premium. Specially for this price.
Also the nylon outer shell scuffs very easily (I have the black one) and the shoulder straps feel... cheap.
The laptop compartment doesn't feel secure enough, I would have liked an additional internal zipper or something a bit better than a bit of velcro. If you have a thick laptop you will clearly feel it on your back. Additional cushioning would've been nice.
The modular system is interesting but I don't believe the small camera cube to be a good fit here. It takes up a lot of space while the vertical clip option that allows you to access its contents via one of the side panels is very awkward and makes it hard to pack other stuff around it and shifts the weight of the backpack to one of your shoulders.

Plein Air Painters Dream
on December 5, 2019

After searching for the perfect backpack, and many unhappy purchases of other backpacks, I finally found the PERFECT backpack for my outdoor painting adventures! As a Plein air painter, you carry lots of gear to get to the perfect spot for your painting and this backpack is lightweight, strong, comfortable and roomy enough to pack it all in! When I saw how others were using it for camera gear I thought this had to be the one. You should consider advertising this to the Plein air painting community! I will certainly spread the word. Thanks for making such a great backpack!! My hunt for the perfect one is over!!
