Love this bag

I bought this to replace a roller bag. I travel to Germany for business regularly and this bag has changed how easy that is. If anyone has ever travelled to Europe you know it is not very easy getting around with a roller bag as there is rarely escalators or smooth streets/wide sidewalks. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone.

The Perfect Travel Backpack Solution
on September 27, 2019

My wife and I just returned from a 9 day trip to Europe, relying entirely on our Peak 45L Travel Backpacks for our luggage. We found the many features of these packs to be perfectly suited to a trip of about this length. They easily handled all of our clothes and necessities, as well as my laptop, while still allowing some room to expand the pack for items we picked up on our trip. The hardware all proved to be of top quality, and even with my pack being a bit heavy with everything I brought, I was able to wear it comfortably for hours at a time when needed. Looking forward to many more adventures with our Peak backpacks!

What a great bag

I got the 45l Travel Backpack for an 11 day trip to Europe. I went carry-on only with this bag and the 13 inch Everyday Messenger. What an amazing product. I dressed well enough to dine in four Michelin-starred restaurants and I took two laptops, a tablet, tripod, 35mm camera and a medium format. The quality and functionality of the Travel Backback is unmatched.
I've traveled with the RedOxx AirBoss for years. This is smaller but so much better. I won't be going back to that bag.
With what I learned on this trip I can't wait to get it out for the next one.

A great buy on the fly

Was buying a camera and realize a good camera bag was also needed. Finally got the 30L Peak Design travel bag and loved the quality and features from first sight. Kept as carry on for trip to Madagascar and day pack for hikes during the trip. Got the camera clip which is a truly great accessory. Super handy and comfy! Make sure to remove the sternum strap when you not use it! It may fall off. Overall highly recommended backpack with lots of great features.

Everything I expected and more

I got the travel backpack for a trip to Bali. I do not want to say much about the usage of the backpack, other reviewers have already mentioned that it is great and I agree with those comments. What happened is that I flew with a chinese airline with a layover in china. I have checked the backpack in, when arrived at china for layover I saw alot of people had issues with their checked in luggage. Some suitcases were broken, which were being replaced by the airline, other people who had checked in their backpacks had their straps broken, so I got a little nervous by the way the luggage was being handled by this airline and airport. I was going to get my bag back at my final destination, and the whole time I had thought that something could happen to my bag as well. When arrived at final destination I did notice that my bag has been handled pretty roughly, it was a brand new backpack, but it had gotten pretty dirty. But altough it has been handled roughly like other peoples bag, there was no real damage to it. It went through the same rough treatment on the way back, but the durability of the backpack is amazing. Although the airline and chinese airport did their best to damage my backpack they have not succeeded because of the great job of people at Peak Design, thank you for providing me with this great backpack.

Top-Notch Travel Bag

I can't say enough good things about this bag. The design, quality and attention to details are superb. I fly frequently so I bought this to carry a my 5dMkIV, several lenses, 15" MB Pro and other travel accessories. I have a Peak Designs medium camera insert for the photo gear. The insert is well designed and has no problem holding the 5dMkIV with RRS L-plate and EF24-70 f2.8 attached. Integration of the insert is excellent and I really like that it can be removed quickly to allow general use of the bag. The loaded bag carries very well and I have no concerns about protection of the contents. The materials seem durable, and I have zero concerns about construction. The price for a bag of this quality and design is reasonable in my opinion. I am a Soldier by profession, I'm into photography as a long time amateur and hobbyist. I've tried a lot of bags and systems for photo gear; from dedicated F-stop gear kits, to pieced together inserts and bags. This kit from Peak designs is definitely my favorite to date for both daily short range travel and long distance prolonged global travel.
Pros:
The details of the design are incredible
Integration of inserts/accessories
Construction quality
Materials
Warranty
Cons:
The outer material collects dirt and dust, but it cleans easily
The snaps used to make the back more compact comes unsnapped easily; not really a flaw, just something to know
Overall, I recommend this bag wholeheartedly. I'd buy it again.

Excellent—love this bag!

Really happy I bought this bag. I have used it so far for about 4 short trips by air, ferry, train, bus and car and it has served my very well. It fits so much stuff while remaining compact and upright and the straps stow away really easily. The shoulder straps and hip straps make carrying it very comfortable. My one tiny complaint is that I find it hard to reach the bottle/umbrella holders on the sides when I have it on my back, perhaps because the bag is designed for people somewhat taller than me (I'm 5'5”). The bag also looks really sleek and stylish and I like how the straps etc are so discreet.

Great for travel on smaller CRJ planes
on October 7, 2019

I bought the 45L travel backpack to replace my previous travel backpack. I live in an area where my local airport flies only small CRJ jets that must first go to a hub airport where larger planes fly from. So my carryon backpack must meet its ridged dimension restrictions. Gladly the 45L backpack meets them. I have the medium camera cube which houses all of my camera equipment and lenses (Cann 5D4, 24-70 f/2.8, 16-35 f/4, 70-200 f/4, plus many accessories). The upper space of the backpack easily houses my think tank hive for all of my Lee filter system filters and my other screw on filters as well as my kit for all of my chargers for camera batteries and laptop, phone etc chargers. I love the tuck in option for straps which makes it easier to stretch especially on the small CRJ plane. Overall it is a much better looking and functioning backpack for my travel camera needs!
