One bag Travel
on August 14, 2019

Been looking for a bag to travel with just one carry on. First off, I do not haul any photography equipment. I'm just a traveller looking for the best bag possible to travel carry on. Been to over 30+ countries so I know exactly what I'm looking for in a bag. I'm sure the peak design travel bag is amazing for photographers, but it is also amazing for someone looking for a durable travel bag that can fit pretty much everything.
Looking forward for other products that peak design has to offer in the future.

Wish I could love this but couldn't

I really wanted to love this pack, but had a number of issues. These are the main ones:
1. It is long, so the bottom of the pack bounces on my buttocks a bit when walking. The only way to prevent this is to cinch the shoulder straps so they were uncomfortably tight, which causes the lower part of the back panel to lift off my back. I'm a 5'7” male and don't have an unusually short back - all the Tortuga packs fit me fine, for example. I'd like to see an adjustable back panel, or a wider pack that allows a shorter back without affecting capacity.
2. The waist belt doesn't give that much support, presumably because it is designed to fold away. But when folded away, it made the back feel lumpy, even after adjusting it a lot.
3. The shoulder straps and back have minimal padding, which was good for keeping it compact and was fine for short trips, but made it less comfy when wearing for long periods.
4. In the 45L capacity, it sticks out much further than other packs of that size, putting a lot of the weight far from your body. Combined with the minimal padding, this makes it feel heavier than it should. I'm also concerned that it is technically over the carry-on size in this format, which is not necessary - several other brands have 45L carry-on bags. Again, this could be solved by making it a bit wider.
The tech pouch, packing cube and (to a lesser extent) the wash bag are great though.

The perfect and best travel backpack ever ... but not for hiking
on August 27, 2019

Been looking for the perfect backpack since a ºlong time. The one that does everything. And this one is awesome. It's very functional, customizable, very well constructed. They've though of everything. Everything you ever wished is there and everything is so well organized and accessible in seconds. I really think this is the best travel backpack actually on the market.
Perfect for travelling, but it is not made for hiking. The shoulder straps aren't padded enough, the waist belt doesn't give much support, a lot of the weight is far from your body and you back & shoulders are getting tired very quickly.
During a trip, I had an 8 hours stop in Amsterdam. On purpose. I wanted to visit and photograph this beautiful city. So I walked around during 5-6 hours with this backpack. Ok it was heavy, because all my photo gear was in there + iPad + some clothes + accessories + toiletry bag. Everything, as I said, accessible in seconds, a real pleasure, but after walking for a few hours my back was broken and my shoulders were hurting me. That all said I'm really happy with the purchase.

A beast

I've just finished my first trip with this one, couldn't have gone better.
Managed to pack everything I needed for a two-week trip. I took this backpack everywhere, super comfortable and incredibly durable... to give you an idea, this backpack protected my partner's back... we fell off a motorcycle with it, not a single scratch, just a bit of dirt we've cleaned off (goes without saying... don't try it).
Pros:
- Practical
- Comfortable
- Durable
- Perfectly fits carry-on size, airline failed to find a reason to charge me for it, and they tried hard.
- Works fantastically well with packing cubes and tech-pouch
Cons:
- A bit heavier than I'd like
- (Not really a con) too big to be used as an everyday backpack
All things considered, I love this backpack.
