In dire need of an update

I bought a 20L Everyday Backpack (V2), which for the most part, I'm super happy with it. I figured that this would be of similar quality, both in features and in materials, and while the materials are like always top notch, the features I found weren't very useful a lot of the time:
For one thing, there's the grab handles on nearly every side of the bag. great feature, but the lack of padding on what should be the most used handles (sides and front) make it really difficult and uncomfortable to hold. the straps are stiff, wide, and almost cut into your hand when you hold it via these three handles. I can understand why the bottom handle is unpadded, but the other three just doesn't make sense.
The top handle is padded, which is nice, but not to the same level of the Everyday Bag, and the shoulder straps aren't padded nearly as much as they should be.
What's probably my biggest gripe, however, is the laptop/tablet compartment. enough space to easily fit any laptop, but for the tablet compartment, you don't get to fit anything larger then an 11" iPad Pro, which even that is a struggle. Its held together with velcro, which just feels cheap when compared to the magnet/zipper combo on the Everyday bags.
That's another thing worth mentioning, the zipper and magnet situation just doesn't feel as nice as the Everyday line either, which considering the price, is a little disappointing. The Bottle holders, while generally staying flush with the bag, don't have that satisfying click that the magnets give, and there are often zippers or velcro where magnets could and should be.
The zipper pulls also don't have that same level of quality or comfort, and the side access flaps aren't nearly as useful as packing tools take up most of the bag space, and they don't have any pockets on the flap like the Everyday Backpack does.
Maybe I'm being picky here, but even the tether points don't have that same level of satisfying resistance. They still click, but not as tightly as the Everyday V2 series bags.
Overall I guess the general issue here is that it still feels like a V1 product, which in fairness, it is. The bag just feels like its greatly in need of an update, and for that reason alone I just can't justify the crazy high price tag that it commands. If a V2 travel line comes out I'd be eager to give it a fresh shot, as I have a good feeling that Peak Design will nail it

I love Peak Design and I love this travel camera pack. I love the strap on the back of the bag for slipping it on top of my luggage. It is light and I have even managed to figure out how to carry my Sony 600mm in this pack! There is one feature of the pack that could easily be improved and make it much more useful. The hip strap and buckle design is flawed. It is not strong, difficult to slip on connector innto the other strap/buckle, and does not support weight in the pack on anything over a short walk. Use a wider strap and, especially please, a buckle that is a legit buckle, and that can be tightened to carry the weight of the pack on the hips.

My favorite bag so far has been Kickstarter project that was a great concept poorly executed. The 45 liter Travel bag from Peak improved on the concept, and totally nailed the execution. I bought the bag a month ago for a two week trip to Germany, Austria, the Dolomites, and Venice. We've been doing carry on travel for years, but with the travel headaches we've been hearing about this summer, we really wanted to avoid checking a bag. The Travel 45l made it easy. Far and away the best bag I've ever owned. Doing carry-on only usually involves some compromises, but the decisions the Peak Design team made on this bag are truly elegant. And the build quality is second to none. Bravo and thank you! Dan

Versatile and Functional maybe even as an everyday

I bought the bag after reading reviews and watching videos and realized that it would be a purchase that i would try on my upcoming trip and if i didnt like it i would return it. well that went a lot better than expected. I had some packing cubes and that helps a load in keeping organized but what was really key were all the extra compartments. Being able to take out the laptop easily and still access the bag via the side panels made for getting some needed items out in a quick hurry.

Great carry-on alternative!

I used to travel with a backpack and a wheely bag, or a backpack and a small duffle on short trips--now I have one bag that does it all! I've only had it a month and have used it a couple times already. It fits overhead and below the seat in front of you. Great for a 3-4 day trip. It is large for a backpack--I'm a 5'5 lady and it feels kinda huge on me, but the straps are adjustable so it is comfortable enough even when it is heavy.

Well designed but heavy

I bought this back pack with the Camino in mind and whilst it is well designed and capacious with lots of pockets to secure stuff out of sight, it is actually too heavy and I found myself lightening the load wherever possible. I also found, perhaps because it was hot and I was perspiring a lot, that I frequently had to adjust the straps to keep the back pack in the correct position. That was a trifle irritating. I was walking with it on my back for up to 7 hours a day over a mixture of cobbled paths, gravel paths, grass tracks and pavements.

So many things done right - but looking for a V2
on December 2, 2022

There are so many good points but still i would like to see some improvements / changes for V2: - Shoulderstraps should be wider / thicker - Thicker and more structurized backpanel - As the overall used fabric has some kind of protection included; the usage of the camera cubes sometimes feel like a overkill. I would suggested a thinner structure minimizing the weight and make the Backpack overall more flexible. Reducing the bulckyness when using as edc + small camera setup. - Change the compression mechanismen. The snaps for compression aren't really reliable. - Extend size of the front pocket

I have been looking for a good travel bag that fits in carry-on restrictions in both the US and UK for a few trips I have planned. I'm not a big fan of checking bags then having to worry about these wonderful airlines just losing it on me. I did a LOT of research and compared this bag to many others that fit in the same restrictions, and were also focused on camera storage, as well as general storage as this will house my Canon EOS R with lenses & accessories, as well as all of my clothes and travel stuff! I have the Peak Design toiletries bag already, and have loved it for over 2 years now, and pairing it with this is the PERFECT travel setup. The Sage color is even more beautiful in person than online, if you're thinking about it. I am so excited to get out on my trips and use this travel bag. Also, I highly recommend you watch the PD YouTube video (32 min long) on this bag "Peak Design Everyday Backpack: Setup + Tips". I watched it 3 times and will watch it a few more when I pack for my first trip, as there are SO many features to this thing, and they're all SO useful! Also, it's cheeky funny, so enjoy all the little puns.
