Great Bag for Travel through Tough Terrain
on January 10, 2019
Posted by: Anonymous
This is such a great bag. I travel A LOT for work and pleasure so I have a lot of travel experience. I usually take a roller bag, because you can fill that up and not worry about weight. However, going through areas with uneven terrain (for me Bangkok and Tokyo primarily) was really a chore. Lifting a roller over stairs or the long waits for elevators in train stations was really not ideal. This bag really solves those problems. The trade-off is, of course, weight on your back/shoulders which can be hard for long treks. However, this bag helps keep me mobile, fits a ton of gear securely, intuitively, and with great ease of access. It's really a great bag and fits basically as much as a full carry-on roller if you're willing to carry the weight. It's also really comfortable and pretty good looking in my opinion. Highly recommended.

The bag looks great and is comfortable as well. It holds everything I need for a two week long trip. I would highly recommend the bag and as a matter of fact anything from peak design.

So many features!

There are a lot of hit or miss projects on Kickstarter, but this is happily one of the best purchases I made on Kickstarter. It makes me wish that I traveled more than I do to put all of the features to use.
The backpack is extremely durable. I feel like whatever is inside of the bag will be destroyed well before the bag is.
I need to watch a video of how the shoulder straps are neatly tucked into the magnetic flaps, because I love that it has the ability to turn into a simple carry-bag of sorts, but I can't easily put the straps in and have the magnets hold well.
This bag seems like it was truly designed by a thoughtful and fed-up (with current options) traveler. From the tucked away ID pocket, to the double laptop pocket, to the zip-through front flap, I feel like I am always finding new things on this bag.
10/10 Have bag, will travel.

Perfect for trips

before it's announced on KS, I've been looking at bags from other brands and while some does have features I wanted but i never did checkout my cart for kept thinking it over if it's worth it. PD travel backpack (and tech pouch) has all features I needed and can I use it for different trips. I'm definitely will be purchasing the small camera cube next. The only thing I might add to my side bag door is maybe Velcro camera cube door to my backpack side door.

It has enough storage space. But looks small. The shoulder straps seem not very comfortable when I saw it online because it can be hidden in the bag. It's kind of portable version. But the truth is it's very comfortable to wear all day.

Great bag overall

Love the bag overall. A lot of thought has been put into the details, it is comfortable to carry and it just fits into the ovrhead storage of the smaller regional jets (sideways of course). The strap storage system is great, but it takes a moment to shove the strap in.
A few things I don't love but can absolutely live with:
- the capacity "feels" a little smaller than expected. I think the rounded shape and ample padding takes up a good amount of volume (and weight). A less structured bag would allow for more things to be shoved in. But that would of course be at the expense of protection for the content.
- The buttons to decrease the volume are not that easy to close and can sometimes open when handling the bag
Overall I highly recommend this for short trips.

Peak Design Slayed This Design & Thought Of Everything | Best Backpack Yet !
on January 10, 2019

I am seriously ‘fanboying' over Peak Design here in the PacNW.
The 45L is my new go-to backpack. It is great for quick trips to the mountains but versatile enough to carry camera equipment and even all of my heavy textbooks.
Peak Design pays attention to details like the chest straps and waist straps. They are great for distributing heavy loads and the magnetic sleeves = no stray straps hanging out.
The design was deliberate, smart, and well-planned. The inside has a sleeve that holds both my MacBook and iPad. The wash pouch, smart cube, tech pouch, and camera cube all fit inside with ease. There are hidden pockets, to store straps (i.e. shoe pouch) or other compressible packing cubes.
The material is durable. I went on a hike and made a contact against sandstone, pine tree branches, and bushes. The material held up great and no permanent marks were left behind. It got dirty from dust, tree sap, and soil but it was easy to clean up. I used a damp rag and it looks good as new.
The bag matches my vibe perfectly; whether I'm in a casual place with friends or I'm sporting it with a suit and tie at a trendy event downtown.
The bag exceeded all of my expectations.
The only feedback is the strap size is not as thick as the 30L series.
Peak Design is one of my favorite brands and I can't wait to see what is released next.
Worth. Every. Penny.

Recently took it on a hiking trip to the Far East. I kept everything I needed and was secure in the knowledge that all my items were safe from the elements and from thieves. The only drawback is that everyone wanted to put their things in my bag!
