Love this bag. It does it all

This bag is bomb proof. Big enough to fit a bunch of stuff, but small enough to be a carryon. Great design. Plenty of pockets and organizers. Plenty of little thoughtful features throughout. All of the straps and the hip belt tuck neatly inside flaps on the back of the bag. I can't think of a single improvement.

Can be used for just about everything, as I do! Not a 10/10 for hiking, but about everything else it’ll excel at. I find myself rarely using the expansion as it exceeds flight carry on limits, so i could’ve settled for a 30L, but it’s been nice and easy the times i’ve used it to fully pack it. The decompression partly undos itself if you use the side handles with any force, which is just about the only complaint i have.
Great organisation, customizability and adaption. The external straps and hip belt that can be hidden away are amazing.

Heavy-duty travel bag

I carried this bag everywhere during a 2 week trip. Paired with some packing cubes, it has more than enough space to fit clothes, toiletries, and small souvenirs that I picked up along the way. The bag is super sturdy, although this means that you can't really fold it/crumple it up very easily, and it is a bit heavy when completely empty. Fully expanded, it just about squeezes into a standard-sized overhead bin on a plane. I used the outer straps to fasten an extra packing cube to the outside to hold more stuff in the main compartment. I didn't think I'd use it, but the side access comes in handy when trying to reach something stuffed at the bottom of the bag quickly, and the inner pockets help for small documents/pens/paper. Great bag all in all, and I'm happy I got it.

Bought the 45L Sage bag last minute for a 10- day trip to Scandinavia. It was perfect for carry on international flights, easy to check for Scandinavian domestic flights that have very small carry on bag restrictions. Once jammed- full, your gear is easy to access from every direction due to its multi- entry point system. Loaded with features, even after 10 days of constant use, I was still discovering new capabilities. I rarely leave a review but this bag was so good I just had to. Great job design team!

The best backpack ever!

I’ve been using the travel backpack for the last 5 years. Yes, it’s a bit worn out since I’ve used it as an everyday bag too. But when the zipper loops wore out, PD sent me new ones! Now I’ve washed it and it’s almost as good as new, ready for another few years. This is the most rugged, useful and thoughtfully designed bag I’ve ever used. And it all works so perfectly with everything else I’ve got from peak design. This is endgame for me. It’s the backpack that made me fall in love with Peak Design and now I’m married to them. Forever. And ever. Amen.

I spent a lot of time checking out different types of bags to use for photography. I travel a lot and needed to get a new bag for a job out of state. This bag is durable, spacious, had all the pockets you need and more. I was split between 3 different bags but I'm definitely glad I got this one. I purchased the camera sectional with this bag (used) and it works great. Enough space for 2 cameras, a couple of lenses, and I was also surprised how easy my 70-200 EF lens was able to fit with no problem. I'd recommend this bag any day and use it all the time!

I recently picked up the Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack for a 12-day trip to Japan, along with the small and medium packing cubes. Initially, I had concerns about departing from traditional rolling luggage, but I swiftly discovered that the backpack format outshines rolling options in most scenarios, barring perhaps well-tiled airports. Even then, the convenience remains negligible. Maneuvering through Tokyo's bustling streets was a breeze, and the backpack's carry-on dimensions allowed it to fit snugly above most train seats.
The backpack's organization is a standout feature, offering an abundance of pockets for all your essentials. The dual-access design, enabling both front and back entry, ensures quick and hassle-free access to your belongings. In terms of space, I effortlessly accommodated all my necessities for the 12 days, including a range of clothing from casual wear to a suit and shoes. Remarkably, there was even room for a sizeable martial arts uniform, which is quite bulky. To optimize space, the packing cubes are a must-have. They proved astonishingly capacious, and the ingenious compression zipper condensed everything perfectly within the bag's confines.
The backpack's craftsmanship is top-notch. The zippers exude durability while maintaining a smooth glide, and the materials demonstrate robustness. Despite consistent use, the backpack's appearance retains its contemporary charm.
In conclusion, my experience with the Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack was overwhelmingly positive. It surpassed my expectations with its backpack convenience, adept organization, spaciousness, and unwavering durability. The backpack's performance in real-world scenarios like Tokyo's busy streets and trains underscores its practicality. If you’re looking to up your minimalist travel game with a new backpack type carryon look no further.
