Fantastic, but two big flaws.

If I had a financial advisor I'm sure they would suspect that Peak Design asserts undue influence on me. I've spent that much money and have that much of their gear. Pretty much I love all of it Functional and beautiful in the best way - the beauty grows from the design, not just style for style's sake. I immediately felt love for my new (and still relatively untested) travel duffel. But there are two, nearly unforgivable, flaws that downgrade the review to 4 stars. The magnetic handles are worthless. They literally do not stick even at rest, much less in use. They are uncomfortable to grip when there is any weight in the bag (camera, laptop and a few clothes). This shows up in a lot of reviews which I assumed had to be wrong since Peak is always good! I was bamboozled! They are that bad and it is amazing that this hasn't been fixed. The other problem is that when you open the bag it doesn't, like a doctor's bag, stay open. You constantly have to use one hand to prop it open. Except that I like the rest of it so much I would return it. And maybe keeping it will turn out to be a mistake as the irritation grows with use. I love the main compartment and then the various side pockets for creating a good hierarchy. Materials are great. It looks sleek and I like the way it appears small and slim when you don't have much in it but grows upward as you pack more in. Peak (Lawrence, I'm looking at you!), how can you extoll those magnetic handles that don't stick together at all, much less stay 'snapped' when using? I do have to give kudos to the the website in general for clarity in explaining all the gear and Lawrence and Zona for their focused, comprehensive and fun video presentations.

By far the most useful bag I have ever owned

I bought this bag in or around 2018 - I'm only writing the review now because I recommended this bag to my brother, and realized it was criminal that I hadn't posted a public one yet.
This badboy has been with me to 10+ countries, been thrown in and out of every size of airplane, and generally been my bag of choice for everything that comes up. I have dragged it through immigration lines by the strap, and have worn it as a backpack because I had my hands full. It feels like a small bag, but somehow holds everything... like it always manages to hold everything.
I tried tons of different specialized bags to use for getting my pilot's license, and this thing (surprise!) holds everything perfectly. Weekend bag? check. Month long trip? Rock this guy plus a backpack or carryon. Which brings me to the *only* flaw I can think of. It doesn't sit well on top of a rolling suitcase. The bag will want to slide off the top, and can tip over the whole arrangement when you're on the run.
Also, and I can't explain this with anything other than witchcraft... it looks *exactly* the same as when I bought it.

Exactly what I needed

Very hard to find a decent multipurpose/format day/weekend bag around 30L at this price. I switch between backpack and hand carry almost daily and it's very easy to do. The zip pockets and interior pouches are super useful. I travel a lot for work (1-2 nights away at a time) and this is ideal to pack everything I need as a holdall and to unpack at the hotel and use as a gym/day bag in between. It's light, rugged and the magnets and secure zips are a nice touch. I love the colour (sage) and I haven't found anything that comes close.

Good with some room for improvment

As with all PD bags, it's stylish and the materials and zippers are top-notch. The 35l is good enough for a weekend to week travel, I can put inside tech pouch, wash pouch, 2 jeans, 8 shirts, some underwear and socks, my laptop (in a case) and some accessories and all fit great without being overload.
What I want to see on next version? bigger side pockets and inner pockets, I think ther can be bigger, right now they are not that big enough when the bag is fully packed. The handles are ok for me, but you do have to hold them in the right way to be comfortable. I don't think they need a redesign but PD can add some soft neoprene strap to wrap the handle together that people can add to make it more comfortable when moving around.
All in all, a classic duffle with a premium feel.
All in all, I am happy with this duffle

Great Bag

After 3 months, one of the side pocket zipper-pull broke off. After reaching out to Peak design they directed me to go through the warranty process. I received a brand new replacement bag within a few weeks. It was a pretty seamless process. Overall the bag is fantastic. Love all the pockets and carrying versatility. The one critique would be that the magnets in the Handel are too weak. I highly recommend travel duffel.

When plans were released for a travel line I was very much looking forward to seeing a product of this kind. I was not disappointed. It’s extremely durable and I love the amount of space it has! I got the 35L for weekend travel use but combined with the packing cubes I could easily stretch to a long weekend/3-5 days of use. The multiple carry strap configurations are an awesome feature. That green color is sleek as well. Two thumbs up PD!

Excellent duffel

Bought it 2 years ago and it's holding beautifully. Handles have developed some patina but a lot of the bag looks like new. Main compartment zipper is reinforced and does not het floppy/wrinkly, making zipping/unzipping easier and getting into the bag easier. Plenty of compartments and and carry styles thanks to many attachment loops for shoulder belt and handles. Handles do dig in into shoulders though if you carry heavy stuff. Also, magnets in to keep the handles together hold the handles quite poorly. But it's really all the nitpicks I can think of.

Product + CS

I travel for work with a 2 bag system and basically live out of this bag and a backpack for my laptop etc for a couple weeks at a time every month. It’s just the right amount of space for me and let me tell you it is rugged. I’m not easy on this bag and it looks brand new after months of weekly use. I’ve only had one issue where I lost a strap and even though I was at fault customer support took care of me and got a new one right out. I honestly can not say enough good things about this product, the CS I received, and this company as a whole. Great gear and people!
