Great design and features

We change all our appliances to cafe and the no handle clean look, platinum glass front and color were the primary reasons to go all in. The refrigerator is sleek, nicely compartmented and well designed. The middle drawer flexible to be freezer/chiller or refrigerator is very helpful. The freezer is well designed to give many storage compartments. The refrigerator, the water dispenser, the slimness to give more space in the door are all well thought for. It is just over one month for us so we will stay away from the quality comments but pleased with the purchase so far.

Attractive and roomy!

This is the best refrigerator we’ve ever had. While externally it doesn’t look any bigger that others we’ve had, internally the capacity is so much more than others. It’s attractive and love the middle drawer for cheeses and meats.

Amazing fridge - nicest one ever owned!

We love our Cafe fridge! It's incredibly spacious and the lighting is great. Adjustable shelving is useful, especially the little shelf that folds in to accommodate tall items like wine bottles. We are really surprised and pleased with how long vegetables stay crisp and fresh. The middle drawer is fantastic for cheeses and canned sodas/water. The freezer is super spacious and the three shelves make it so easy to stay organized. Ice maker is reliable. The best thing is the water pitcher. We were used to an in-door water dispenser, but this is so much nicer and sleek. It's also very quiet (except when filling water pitcher, but that is only a few seconds). The vegetable drawers could be bigger, but that is because we eat A LOT of veggies.

Great Features

I choose this GE Cafe model because of the clean sleek look both inside and out. The outside is nice to look at and the entire inside back wall lights up when the doors open. There is more than enough shelf and drawer space. We are enjoying the semi-freeze center pullout drawer for our sodas. The bottom freezer is easily accessed when pulled out. We have had our refrigerator for 1 month and are enjoying all of its features.

Poor design

When the product was out of the box I noticed a small square opening in the bottom corners of the sides of the refrigerator. i determined one side was air intake and the other side was exhaust. This is very poor engineering, as the unit needs to expel as much heat as possible. With this set up and the typical space allowed in openings in the kitchen available to a refrigerator, the unit will not function properly and it's life cycle will suffer greatly. I had to drill holes into my cabinets to allow for air movement for the cooling fan. What designers did here is unacceptable.

Fantastic Upgrade

We had our last GE Cafe for 15 years before moving it to the garage and getting the new model. This unit feels much bigger than our previous cafe even thought both are counter depth. The water dispenser is great because the water gets extra cold compared to a traditional indoor dispenser. Really happy and it is beautiful inside.
