No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good Features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had a previous Kitchenaid dishwasher for 8 years and loved it. We opted to get a new one after issues with water input instead of fixing old one. We use HOT WASH AND SANI RINSE religiously for every cycle. This cycle on the old one ran-for about 5 hours and this one seems to also. This model also had those features and was on sale. Love the buttons visible on the outside when closed and silverware baskets hold larger handled items. On this model the only way to tell what cycle the D.W. Is currently in is to look at the buttons. They have a light . Old one had a small bar with washing, rinsing, drying etc and I really like that feature.Three tier baskets are interesting to get used to. Plates and small plates don’t stand up well in this model. I did consult the online placement guide. We tried raising and lowering the middle basket but that creates an issue with the water jets hitting dishes. Sometimes something on the top tier may not get 100% clean. I’m not sure the water gets as hot as I was used to but it may just be better insulated.I’m not sure I would purchase 3 tier trays again. Just my preference. We can hear it a bit more than our last dishwasher but it is just slightly when the dishes are being washed and the door is a bit more flimsy than our previous door, maybe that’s why we hear it a bit more. It closes well and does not seem to interfere with function. Love the less fingerprint finish!I am comparing it to our 8 year old Kitchenaid DW which we loved and it served us well. I hope this one will too. It is just my husband and I mostly so we rinse dishes well and wash every 2-3 days. Overall we are happy with our new dishwasher and it had the features we wanted,

A quality product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality is excellent . It is solid and substantial , closes tightly , runs quietly and does an admirable job cleaning everything I have loaded. As some reviews noted , being a three level dishwasher the door pulls down close to the ground to open sufficiently but it does not drop down inconveniently and responds to adequate touch to perform effectively . I wish the inserts in the utensil baskets had had larger apertures as I could not use them for my heavy handle stainless tableware. Despite the literature that came with the machine mentioning that some of the tines on the lower shelf folded down to allow for large bowls , all tines were part of solid piece design. The instructions for raising the middle shelf were clear and simple to follow and worked smoothly so that shelf can the raised a bit to accommodate large bowls in the bottom .

Much improved model

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit matches my other older appliances and I’m grateful for that. I’m getting used to the 3 levels and finding more uses for that 3rd one. The racks seem more secure than my older model and much more quiet.
