My New Favorite Cleaning Tool

TL;DR- A handy machine that provides a solid clean, but is annoying to clean out afterwards (but that comes with the territory). I had been considering a wet-dry vac for a while and was very excited when I received the CrossWave OmniFind to test for the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Out of the box, I thought the machine was sleek and seemed solid, without being really heavy. It was simple to assemble, and the quick guide gave a good overview of how to operate the machine. I had it up and running in no time. The good: The OmniFind is fairly maneuverable and does a good job getting right to the edges of things. The headlights are a nice touch to ensure you hit all the right spots. The battery charge is sufficient to clean my entire small house (975sqft). The suction seems good- it picks up pet food and cardboard pieces from my cat scratchers better than my other vacuum. Overall, my floors looked good after using the OmniFind. My favorite thing- the tangle-free brush roll. I have long hair, but saw no hair at all wrapped around the brush roll. The bad (or not-so-good): Where the brush roll sits is taller, so the OmniFind is not the best at cleaning under things. The water tank is on the small side, so I run out of water at some point if trying to clean my whole house. Also, there is no indicator light for this, so you have to either check the tank, or notice that the floor doesn't look wet. I once forgot to install the tank after filling it and was still able to run the machine- I only realized because the floor wasn't wet at all. The ugly: Cleaning the machine after use is gross. I anticipated this, and it was my primary deterrent from purchasing a wet-dry vac. Just imagine all the dust, dirt, and debris you normally vacuum up all mixed with water that you have to empty out. In summary, I think the OmniFind is a handy machine to easily maintain clean floors and is perfect for someone who wishes they mopped more frequently.

Disappointing Wet/Dry Vacuum

I have a home with mixed flooring, 3 children and 2 pets. I was very excited about the opportunity to try the Cross Wave Omni Find wet/dry vacuum. I received this wet and dry vacuum from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I became skeptical when reading through the steps to set up the vacuum and more frustrated when I tried to use the vacuum. You can only use the soap products sold by the company, which is frustrating to me if I want to do a quick clean with water and vinegar. I went to use the wet feature of the vacuum and it puts out more water when going forward than it sucks up when pulling back. The result was a streaky looking floor after the water dried. On carpet, I found that the vacuum did not quite absorb as much water as I would like after cleaning. Then, when time to clean up, there is a canister and filter to be cleaned. I found overall that the work to use the wet/dry vacuum and to clean and store it properly was not worth the effort over vacuuming and mopping the floor. I do think it is convenient to have the wet/dry function in one machine for multiple floors. I did not like that I could not isolate and just use the dry vacuum alone for a quick pick up. The lights are a nice feather and make it easier to see the areas that you are cleaning. It would be ideal as a machine if it could replace multiple appliances, but it does not remove the need for a dry vacuum and is rather large to add to my pantry.

This model is not designed for use as a dry vacuum or for use on carpet. It's meant to be a cordless vacuum and mop in one for wet cleaning your sealed hard floors. Versatile floor cleaner

I received this vacuum as part of the Stellar Testing Panel. It's pretty impressive to show you just how dirty your floors really are. It's impressively light for what it does. To get the negatives out of the way, I will say that it can feel cumbersome to clean but it really isn't, it just takes a few extra minutes. (which it should when you think about what it actually does. ) I love being able to switch between floors without having to own another machine. Seeing this thing vacuum up the entire contents of a sippy cup and Annie's bunnies simultaneously was pretty awesome. It is incredibly convenient to be cordless and fully charged every time I use it. (I use it twice a day on the entire downstairs) The high-beam and low-beam lights were an excellent addition. I didn't think I would care about them at first, but I was impressed with all the areas I could clean without moving furniture since I could actually see. This vacuum has replaced three vacuums for me, which excites my husband because it gives us much-needed closet space back. Overall, this thing is a great time saver when cleaning and wanting it a little extra clean. A must-have for a busy (and apparently dirty) household!

Powerful little thing

In a household with 2 dogs and an infant, I've been on the hunt for something that would help keep my floors clean and sanitary for my little one with minimal effort on my part. I was given this wet and dry vacuum to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Neefless to say, I was pleasantly pleased with the performance. 4/5 stars only because it requires a little more effort to get started and finish up than I wanted BUT it delivers in all areas I wanted it to. It only takes a couple of passes for me to feel like my floors are clean to my liking. The set up out the box is a breeze (filling the clean water tank and snapping things in place). There's a card attached to the handle in addition to the manual, but you really don't need it. Cleaning the floors is just as easy as expected and 1 tank was able to take care of my main floor. You would think I hadn't cleaned my floors in weeks based on the water in the dirty tank. The breakdown was my only gripe (probably because I have dogs and the contraption that catches hair and debris didn't catch everything so getting all the gunk out was annoying). Once you clean/rinse all the parts and run the self cleaning cycle (then rinsing again - I may be doing double work here), you leave everything to dry for a day and do it all over again. I wouldn't trade this for my manual methods and it only takes about 5-10 minutes! Easy peasy!

Hugely helpful with toddlers and pets!

We recently moved into a larger house that is entirely hardwood/tile with some area rugs and I was really struggling to keep everything clean with two kids under 5, a dog, and two cats. I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to test this wet/dry vacuum as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I'm so happy with it! The fact that it's cordless meant I was able to quickly mop up spots and stains without needing to find or trip over a plug, and one of my favorite things is how quiet it is. Quiet enough to not startle my dog or toddler, which is much better than my other stick vacuum. I also liked how it self-cleaned and had the roll drying rack as part of the charging stand. Tossed everything in the closet and so easy to grab and not make it a whole to do! It did a great job with my wood floors and tile, and I was pleasantly surprised by how it refreshed our area rugs as well- even got up some yogurt freshly spilled. I'd say my only minor gripe, though not major enough to deduct a star, was emptying the dirty water tank when it had picked up significant pet hair was a little gross and the light at the front did its job in showing me where it all was so it picked up quite a bit. Likely mostly a sign that I need to vacuum more often, though, as the floors looked SO much better afterwards.

Perfect for busy households

The Crosswave OmniFind is nothing short of wonderful. I have been wanting a wet/dry vacuum for a while. This one was perfect for my needs. Cordless- means I can use it in any room without tripping over the cord. My kid can use it easily to do a quick clean of a spill with out thinking of plugging in. Power bank- is on the floor and the vacuum easily sits in the base. It doesn't tip over even when the dog leans into it. The light- the light goes on when I am pushing the vacuum. At first I thought one didn't need this but I have since come to love the light. It allows for me to see what is getting swept up. I will say the dog isn't too keen on it. The wet vacuum- lets out a little bit of water, not too much. One direction it's dry and the other it is wet. I have used it on both machine made and handmade rugs and the tile floor. For the handmade wool knitted rugs- I tested first on a small corner. It was ok. My dog loves to roll outside and then roll on the rugs. The wet part helps me keep the house cleaner. The brush- now this is where I have a smidge of a problem. Mostly on me the user. The instructions say to remove the brush after each use and put on the base in its holding spot to dry. I forgot to do this one weekend. It did smell a bit when I remembered three days later. I just washed the brush with a small bit of dish soap and it was fine again. Overall, I am using this vacuum regularly in the kitchen, entryways and kids space. It is quick and easy for pick up. Perfect for a busy household. Just remember to take 5 minutes at the end to clean out the dirty water, and let the brush dry. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this wet and dry vacuum. I would recommend this wet and dry vacuum to anyone who has dogs, kids, and likes to do quick clean up of messes.

Not what I was hoping for

The water tank is small. I have to refill it 1-2 times during cleaning. You can’t control how much water/solution is used, it releases solution when you push away and suctions when you pull the cleaner back toward you, mine seems to release way too much water, floors are soaked and it starts to streak soap and doesn’t suction it all back up.

Thanks for your honest feedback. We’re sorry to hear the CrossWave® OmniFind™ isn’t meeting your expectations—especially with the water usage and streaking issues. That’s definitely not the cleaning experience we want you to have.

It sounds like your machine may be dispensing more solution than intended, which could be affecting suction and drying. We’d love to help troubleshoot this and see if there’s a quick fix. Please reach out to our team at support.bissell.com—we’re here to help get your floors looking great again.

I highly recommend this Crosswave OmniFind for pet owners. It sucks up hair and fur like a champ. I love that it's cordless and has headlights to find all the fur on the floor. My biggest selling point was the cordless feature the quiet operation and the headlights. I use it everyday.
