Not suitable for bike trail use.

Because of the Cadence-sensor technology (as opposed to Torque sensor) the bike accelerates to 10 mph as soon as the assist is engaged, whether by pedal or by the throttle. It only responds then to how hard you pedal if you wish to accelerate or travel faster, such as when going uphill. This is dangerous and unsuitable for off-road use where slow speeds are frequently required. Other than that, the bike is very comfortable to ride.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
