I am a graduate student of Journalism Department, using 20L V2 version.
The side zipper of this bag makes it very convenient to take things out. When you are in class, you can take out the partition board and put it into the computer and many books conveniently.
When I go out for an interview and shoot, it can also hold my Sony a7m3, 24-105, 70-200 and other fixed focus lenses. It can also put a microphone and a shadow stabilizer on the top. Even if it is like this, it can still fit into the computer. It can be said that it can be installed now. For short-distance travel, it is more than enough to take a camera and a few clothes.
In fact, I haven't used the external strap. The main reason is that the tripod is large, and water is usually put on the side. I feel that it is too heavy to tie things again.
However, this bag is more suitable for two to three days' travel. If it is just a one-day city walk, it will be too large. You can also use a messenger bag. I'm going to buy a 6L one when it's on sale.
The strap system of this bag still has room for improvement. I hope the third generation can be better!

This backpack is truly amazing. I don't imagine ever buying another backpack. The modularity makes it easy to achieve any load out. It's a secure and sturdy product without feeling bulky or too heavy. Every decision was made with the consumer in mind, and I'm proud to own an everyday backpack

Didn't think it could get better than the V1...

But it did. The V2 has some small tweaks from the V1 that makes it *chef's kiss* absolutely perfect. From the fit and the way it wears (balanced, comfortable) to the storage and flexibility in packing... not to mention the way it interplays with all my other PD gear.
Can't imagine a better, more functional, and cooler bag coming along.

Simply Love It

I've been looking for a long time for the ultimate bag; the one that won't give me a backpain but that can hold more that a body and tow lenses. This bag feels good once on your back and is easily ajustable. I can easily fit (in the 20L) a body, up to 4 or 5 lenses (primarly prime lenses) and some accessories.

Every. Single. Day.

I bought the Everyday Backpack v1 in early 2017. It quickly became my favorite backpack; I have been using it virtually every day since it arrived. As a full-time pro, I take it to every shoot, usually with two FF bodies and 3-6 lenses, (often including a 70-200) plus straps, memory cards, extra batteries, and maybe even a laptop. It all fits, and I've never felt like the bag was dangerously overloaded or unstable. I've also taken it hiking on long day hikes (trusty Capture Clip and PD carbon fiber tripod in stow) and it is comfortable, breathable, and stores everything I need and then some. It's also my go-to travel bag; back when we actually went places on airplanes, I'd sometimes only take this bag, with 1-2 days of clothes, toiletries, a camera and lens, and laptop fitting easily and comfortably inside. For longer trips, I'd bring it as my carryon or day bag for wandering through cities or national parks.
Despite near-daily use (and abuse) the bag held up beautifully, until finally, about a month ago, one of the zippers did finally break. I contacted Peak Design, and they swapped out my old friend for a new (or like-new refurb, I couldn't tell the difference) bag within a week! I look forward to many more years of life with the replacement bag, and this whole experience further solidifies my love of PD's products and PD itself.
The only con I can think of is that if you're an idiot like me sometimes you forget the side zips are open and you drop a lens. Always check!

Get it!

I've been looking for the perfect camera backpack/everyday carry bag for a while and the 20L Everyday Backpack definitely fits the bill. The only hesitation I had was the price tag, but it has been well worth it. As a photojournalist, I carry around a Fujifilm X-T3 with 4 lenses no problem. I also shoot on a Mamiya RZ67 which fits really well if I position the interior flaps so it can sit vertically. Amazing backpack for my various shooting styles. Go get it!

The backpack was the first thing I bought from Peak Design. As soon as I got it, I became the fan forever! It is very nice to touch, very stylish, fits all my stuff. I use it for work as a photography bag and I like to travel with it as well. There is no bag better than this one for me!
