Excellent bag, but needs better carrying system
on June 22, 2020

I probably repeat what several others already wrote here: great bag, lots of good detail (I never thought that the magnets holding the shoulder straps in place when not used where helpful, but I was wrong), good quality, enough space for a full day hiking with kids plus all the camera gear. However, the shoulder straps are not as comfortable as they should be. The bag loaded with a camera, some lenses, the carbon fiber PD tripod – which I love, a water bottle, some snacks, a rain coat, and a few other day trip items leads to a significant weight. Carrying that for a day with the thin shoulder straps and not having a weight carrying hip belt is uncomfortable. So when deciding on whether to buy this backpack, it's kind of a trade-off: either the perfect organization system, easy access to everything, tons of individual pockets, great quality, but underdesigned carrying system; or a good day hiking backpack with a solid carrying system (well padded shoulder straps and weight carrying hip belt), but complete chaos in the bag where you can't find what you are looking for.
I will now switch back and forth between the 30 liter PD bag and a designated hiking backpack, based on the respective trip.

Using the everyday backpack for work and home
on June 26, 2020

I love to bring my camera everywhere I travel to for either work or pleasure. The everyday backpack allows me to carry my laptop, tablet, phone, camera and a lens or two and speedlight flash. Its very comfortable and rugged enough to take on a plane.

"If you know, you know"

This is the type of backpack where if you know, you know. It's this small little community of approving, efficiency appreciative headnods from pleased onlookers while your flight is boarding. The versatility and high end fabrication of this bag makes you forget your life before it. Buy the bag.

Living with the Everyday Backpack
on June 27, 2020

I'm living with the Peak Design 20L Everyday Backpack. I'm a professional photographer who always likes to have a camera and a couple lenses with me. But it's not just about the camera gear it's the fact that the bag is so well organized and customizable I can use it for whatever I need to have with me on a given day. The 20L has a very smart looking design and seems to fit perfectly on my back all the time. That beginning said one of my favorite features is the side handles. If I'm going from my car into the studio, a business meeting, or my house I may not want to put the backpack on my back but just carry it inside. The side handles make it very comfortable to carry. I also hike with this pack and have given it the rain test. Everything inside stayed dry and the outer shell dried quickly once the rain stopped.

Much Better than V1
on June 29, 2020

I spent about a week researching backpacks that would give me the flexibility of a day pack versus carrying my camera and a few other things versus being a straight-up awesome camera bag. I realized that the market for backs that could bridge each of those gaps is limited. I saw a deal for the Everyday Backpack v1 and jumped on it, the backpack had good reviews and looked like it was going to meet all my needs. I was right -but after loading the backpack up with my gear, I realized that the straps were very uncomfortable and it was going to work. I returned the V1 and because I loved everything else figured I would give the V2 a shot. I am glad I did, this backpack is amazing, the style, materials, and attention to detail in this bag is top tier. The straps are better than the V1 by a long shot, but there is still some work to be done to improve in this area. If the straps were more comfortable, this backpack would get 5+ stars easily. I highly recommend the V2 either way.

The backpack is impressive, but needs to improve.

Overall the bag very well. But there are some points that need improvemen :
-The strap is comfortable, but the backpanel needs more ventilation.
The devider is a bit soft, not hard enough to hold the compartment.
-The strap is dangling, needs a solution to keep it neat.
-I prefer the side flap of V1, V2 is too narrow

Well thought out design

Needed a bag to replace my 10+ year old Crumpler backpack. After much research I decided on the everyday backpack. It holds everything I need comfortably to and from work everyday. Only critique I have is I wish the top section under the magnetic fastener was secluded from the bottom section.
