Excellent design and functionality - and yes, the 30L fits under the airplane seat.

PD does design right - the bag is beautiful, and functionality is excellent.
This is probably my 4th backpack, trying to find one that really does what I need. It seems like I may have found it! My travel bag the past few years has been the ThinkTank Airport Accelerator - also great, & it fits my monster old 500mm Nikon lens - but it is BIG. I have had trouble even with small overhead bins in airplanes with it - and then I have to check a roller bag with my actual clothes, or cheat an extra bin space.
I can tell you that the 30L size will fit as a carryon under the seat, and still hold what I need, and I shoot big DSLRs - not mirrorless rigs. (It will NOT fit the 500mm, so I'll be keeping the ThinkTank for if I need to travel with that one).
I just took my first trip with the bag, to Costa Rica, and was able to put a roller bag in the overhead, and my 30L Everyday bag with ALL the gear I needed under the seat in front, and not check anything. Which is how I like to fly. I carry big DSLRs - not mirrorless. I did miss 1 lens that did not make the cut, but that was an executive decision. For anyone interested, here's what all I packed, all in the 30L PD bag:
- D850 body w/battery grip -D500 body w/battery grip - Nikkor 300mm f4 - " " 70-200mm f2.8 - 1.4x TC - PD Travel tripod - Zoom H4N audio recorder - Rode VideoPro mic - SB 700 speedlight - Cables, chargers, SD & XQD cards, small flashlight, bluetooth speaker, rocket blaster, lens brush, etc - all accessories.
Probably the best customer service.....in the world.

I'm not sure where to start other than to say I have never known as good a customer support offering from the Peak design team. They went out if their way to help me with with an issue that most other companies would have ignored. The product is amazing but your team are even better!! Thank you all and I look forward to many happy years with my bag.
From the ordering process to the packaging, this backpack is such a great product. Extremely well made, it feels sturdy, full of features and it looks great.
I've owned a Peak Design sling bag that was gifted to me years ago, which has lasted and looked new since then despite me using it all the time. This was proof that these products are well made and made to last, so it was a no brainer to chose this brand when I needed a backpack.
Once you receive it in the mail, open the package and hold it for the first time, you will think "now I understand why I paid as much as I did, and is totally worth it".
For years I've been using my Dakine Sequence backpack / camera bag and didn't think I'd find another bag as good. When I purchased my peak design everyday backpack I was blown away by the details, attention to detail, storage options and sleek design. My old bag was huge and honestly at times really heavy when filled up with gear. The everyday backpack is smaller in comparison but still fits the same amount of gear, it's awesome! I shoot digital and film so having the space to fit everything organized is great. It's also worth noting that you can get creative with how you organize this bag, I've used some smaller zipper bags inside for GoPro and camera accessories. This helps so that not everything is loose and hard to find or remember where you put it in the bag. So far I give this bag a solid 5/5 with ease. If you're thinking to pick one up try it out, it might take that organization and creative packing to make it exactly what you need... but it's worth it.
Absolutely love my everyday bag - plenty of room for commuting essentials, plus a dedicated space for my camera and a couple of lenses. Now I've always got my camera with me, in a safe, easy-to-reach compartment.
In terms of customer service, Peak Design are simply exceptional, and I'm a lifetime convert. Thanks guys!
One of the best backpacks in the market. Durability of zipper not that great in V1.

Been a great backpack for about 2 years of everyday use as an office backpack and the occasional weekend use as a camera pack (or) a personal item on flights. It's very convenient to segment using the partitions in the backpack and stay more organized. Would definitely come to peak design again if i needed another high quality backpack.
The only con is of durability, as the zipper on the side came off after just under 2 years of use but peak design has a great lifetime warranty and they were happy to replace the backpack with a new one (with return shipping for the old one, i didn't even have a bill since i got the bag from my employer). Wish they redesigned V1 zipper to have better longevity (as they claim on the V2 version) or they start giving out V2 in case of zipper issues on the V1. But nevertheless, i am a really happy customer with their lifetime warranty.
