This backpack is great all around. There's a huge amount of storage space, the materials and build are sturdy and high quality. I'm not a big photographer, just a small camera, but it's nice to have the added customization inside to fit my belongings however I want. I was on the fence for a while, waiting until my backpack of 7 years finally died, and I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
I'm a newspaper photojournalist who travels a lot for both photo and video and have long searched for a bag this robust and versatile. I'm in love with the 30L Everyday Backpack V2.
It holds everything I need for many of my assignments: 2 mirrorless cameras w/ pro zoom lenses, wireless lav mics, extra batteries, flash, laptop, a small travel tripod (can't wait to try the PD tripod), snacks and a water bottle, along with the awesome tech pouch for all my cables, etc. I've even managed to cram a dismantled FS5 in there with most of that stuff as well. Of course, it gets heavy with all that in it and I'm realizing I should spring for the waist belt.
I can carry it on a plane and it fits easily in the overheads of small, regional planes or under the seat when needed. I usually pack any extras (tripods, light stands, reflector, battery chargers, etc.) into my suitcase with my clothes and check that.
The fact that it's weatherproof and as well-padded as it is gives me peace of mind that my gear will stay safe, and I love that so much thought was put into each element of the design. The lifetime guarantee is just icing on the cake. I expect I'll be using this for many years to come.
My husband and I backpacked around the world for 2 years. We struggled with our photography bag because it wasn't the right one. After buying our peak design everyday backpacks, travel has been a breeze! We love the different compartments which allow for easy lens changes. Buy the bag now - thanks peak design!
To me it's best camera backpack i've ever had. I simply cannot imagin switching to anything other at this moment. All this tiny little features make is so adaptable to any situation. It's simply amazing piece of gear.
It's always nice to see a product that meets and exceeds the hype. PD does a great job with their videos and writeups on how to get the most from their products, but it's nothing compared to actually using them yourself.
I've been using the 30L Everyday Backpack for a little over a month now, and it was able to replace two separate bags that I normally used - my laptop pack, and my hiking camera pack. The build quality on this bag is the best I've ever seen, which is not to say it is good, or on par with other packs, it is to say it is significantly better. The bare materials, design, assemblage, and stitching are all better than what I've seen for competitors.
PD has also paid a great deal of attention to how the pack gets used, and the access points are designed to be used by actual people, that use actual cameras, to take actual pictures. It's a radical departure from a lot of other products, and it also happens to look really good.
The versatility and ingenuity of the design of the bag serves as evidence of the thoughtfulness put in. I have found that this bag adapts to however I want to use it.
