I have always used a messenger type camera bag, and never wanted a backpack one because I thought they would be hot and uncomfortable (thinking back to my college days and walking long distances with a heavy bag). Peak Design changed my mind about backpacks. I already had an everyday messenger that I loved, but I bought a new 200-500mm lens and was looking for a camera bag that would hold the camera with that lens attached. I also had some trips coming up, and figured a backpack would be easier to carry around at the airport.
I ended up absolutely falling in love with the 30L backpack. It is SO comfortable, and I don’t end up with a hot sweaty back like I was worried about. It holds a ton of gear, has small pockets for accessories, and larger pockets for a laptop/iPad etc. the back poacher is so large/deep that I lose stuff in it sometimes - my only complaint. Looks sharp and it’s the same great, rugged material as my beloved messenger bag. I recommend this bag often to to anyone who’s looking for a new camera bag.
This bag is my everyday bag, now - it fits as much or as little as I need, and has plenty of pockets and hideaway spots for all the various accessories that I like to keep with me. The only thing I wish it had were zippers on the interior pockets for the main compartment - the things I keep stashed there occasionally escape the magnet, and if it were zip instead of magnetized, I would be able to keep smaller things in there without worry that they'd fall out. Other than that, though, the bag is perfect for me.
I really love this 2nd version of Everyday Backpack. It's a great iteration from the first one. However, for the 3rd version, I would strongly suggest that you create an Everyday Backpack with a smaller and more slim version. This is my only problem I encounter everytime i used this for work. It is too bulky whenever I go to work especially inside the elevator. By the way, I am not a photographer so i use this to carry my MacBook Air, some personal items, and work stuff. So, to solve this problem, I bought the Everyday Sling V2 and Field Pouch V2. Because as I bring my Everyday Backpack to work, and need to go out to eat, I can just bring a smaller bag or pouch to bring my personal items like wallet and smartphones. In addition, I'd like to suggest a seamless integration of the Backpack with a small bag or pouch to carry smaller items. It's like a great flow of bringing a backpack then pulling out a smaller pouch when only small items are needed. I hope you understand my concept and please feel free to contact me if my description is interesting to you and might need a clearer picture of what I had in mind.
I bought this a year ago. I am happy on MagLatch is stronger. The outer material is relatively easy to clear. I like to bring this bag for outdoor photo shooting.
