best backpack ever

I use it for photography, work and study, also when going on weekend trips and don't have to bring much. Still in excellent shape after two years, although the magnets that hold the straps in place came loose at some point.

I've had this for more than 6 months now. The zipper started malfunctioning around the 5-month mark but Peak Design sent me a replacement immediately. I like the patina on the top handle, it exudes quality. The waterproof material is a lifesaver. I often have a laptop+tablet+camera in my backpack, can't risk any water damage.
The dividers are nice but since I use it as a commuter backpack I only use one of them to create a compartment for my camera + lens.
The key tether and outside straps are super convenient too. I use the outer straps for a jacket which gives me more space inside the backpack.
In a perfect world, this backpack would be more reasonably priced but I understand that this level quality and attention to detail demands a high price.

It's clear a lot of thought went into the design of this backpack. The flexibility of features is great. Build quality is robust.

My Daily Driver

I can’t say enough about this backpack. It’s the Herman Miller Aeron of backpacks: once you get it you’ll never need anything else. I use it for hiking, biking, commuting, work, and as a travel bag (it even meets frontiers personal item standards) The lifetime warranty is superfluous, this bag will last a lifetime. If the price feels to steep (it shouldn’t scare you, it’s worth it) then check PD Marketplace!

Really great

I've only had the bag a few weeks but I already love it. The features are really intuitive and carefully thought about. Nothing is extraneous or unnecessary. Super comfy to wear and adjust. The ONLY downside for me is that the 20L is a LITTLE smaller than I thought, especially with the dividers in it, but they can be adjusted/removed so it's not a criticism of the bag.

Have been using it now for 2 weeks, and is performing as expected. Have been able to structure the inside of the pack according my wishes with the dividers and have been able to find a convenient spot for all that I want to carry. Is also very comfortable.

Sturdy backpack with a surprising amount of space

I've had this backpack for a little over a year at this point. It has been on several trips, both international and domestic.
Good points:
* Keeping the outer material clean looking is not as fussy as I had worried it would be. It is a tough material and doesn't seem to accumulate too much dirt, though I also haven't traveled through particularly dirty/dusty areas. The water resistance is enough to not worry about things in light to medium rain. Haven't tried it in heavy rain without a cover.
* The flexfold dividers are great for carrying a variety of strangely-sized objects. I'm not a photographer so the things I transport in this backpack are less camera-focused and more computer/tech stuff (keyboards, cables, peripherals, etc.) or everyday things like loaves of bread, water bottles, umbrellas, etc.
* The top and side handles are always satisfyingly balanced and _nice_ to touch.
* MagLatch works great and I use it way more than I expected.
* When I need to fit _just_ a bit more stuff, the backpack almost magically is able to offer me more space. You can really push this thing to the limit when needed.
* Luggage pass-through is nice, especially returning to Tokyo from a trip with luggage where I need to travel on crowded trains.
* The outside side pockets are deep, sturdy, and hold onto things tightly.
* The use of magnets all over the backpack give a premium and satisfying feel
* I use the key tether thing in the side pocket to hang onto my keys when I travel, and I've never had to worry about losing my apartment keys from when I leave to when I return.
* Nice zippers, no issues with them so far.
So-so points:
* Maybe I'm not aligning the flexfold dividers properly, but sometimes it feels hard to align the top flap properly, which makes MagLatch less effective, and gets in the way of zippers closing
* The pouches in the laptop compartment are a bit hard to access, the opening is not very wide
* Flex-fold dividers can be a bit tough to align in the center, and are overall slightly clumsy feeling to rearrange. Not that I could design a better system, but there's always room for improvement.
Bad points
* I wouldn't say this is a _comfortable_ backpack for extended periods of time. The straps and the surface touching your back could use more and softer padding. This is true even for a backpack that isn't loaded down with stuff. That's really the main reason I wouldn't give this a full 5 stars, but's it's close!
I would recommend this to a friend!
