Great Bag, but....

My wife & I recently each bought 45 liter travel bags for a 3-week trip to Europe. We both really like the quality and organizational capabilities. We did a lot of research and settled on this one. HOWEVER.... on the first day & leg of our journey, I lost the chest strap. I have no idea when or how - maybe taking the pack off or putting it on? I made sure to properly secure it to the shoulder strap. Normally, this wouldn't be much of a problem, but these packs really need the chest strap to keep the shoulder straps from sliding outward. Adding insult to injury, my wife's fell off as well, but I was able to see it fall on the floor.
Everything else here is a really nice pack 5-star pack, but the chest strap needs to be permanently secured to one of the shoulder straps! Hence, 4 stars. Hopefully, the designers read this....

Comes with everything you need - but at a cost

Used this bag as a carry-on for a one month trip. It is huge, able to swallow everything, such as my drone case, jacket, spare clothing etc. External water bottle pockets are huge and stretchy, making it easy to slot bottles, tripods, or any other object you need easy access to. All compartments, straps and handles are extremely well thought out, and everything a traveller could ask for. However, as with all things in life, nothing is perfect.
I faced two main issues with the bag over the course of one month of travelling:
1) The weight of the bag. All those compartments, straps and magnets come with a price - it weighs more than 2kg empty. Add a few more things in, and it suddenly feels really heavy. So it is definitely not suitable as a day pack - much of the weight you are carrying will be the bag itself. But as a sturdy carry on when flying, taking the train between countries, it is more than capable.
2) Chest strap. There does not seem to be a way for the top end of the chest strap to stay secured - it kept coming loose and flopping about.

Overall, despite the cons above, this is a wonderful bag for travelling. It would be perfect for me if it was lighter (or could be made lighter by removing the waist straps for instance).

Perfect bag with so many nice features!

I bought this bag 3 years ago now, and it has been the best bag I ever had. It is well built, and the number of really useful features makes it super practical for everyday use. At first I thought it was gonna be too big for my everyday carry bag, but I found myself using it on a daily basis, to commute, to work, to go on a hike, to take photos etc. I particularly like the little pockets on the sides of the bag, which allow me to put my wallet in a very secure but accessible place. The fact that it can expand is also very good, allowing for some week trips with one bag only.
The only downside for me were the zippers, which wore out with time (and intensive use). But the customer service did an excellent job at solving my problem.

Best Travel backpack I Own!

For about three years I’ve been eyeing this backpack, not only this one but many others online. Trying to decide what would work best for my travels and that actually looks good!! After a long and ridiculous process of saving the backpack in my carts when I would visit the Peak website I stopped being dumb and bought it, it’s been one of the best items I have ever bought so far. This backpack hits all the requirements anyone could need, it looks amazing,it’s extremely versatile,rugged and life proof and with some peak packing cubes you can travel anywhere with ease.

I’ve recently purchase the Peak Design Travel Back Pack 45L for a Europe trip traveling through several countries via several modes of transportation. The Travel Back Pack made the trip so much easier with the design functionality of a carryon suitcase and the versatility of a back pack. The ability to quickly pack and go allowed for more time to explore locations such as Berlin, Germany; Brussels, Belgium; London, UK; Cardiff, UK; & Liverpool; UK. The Travel Back Pack in the 40L configuration fit in every storage location on the planes, trains and automobiles with ease! Highly recommend this Travel Back Pack on any backpacking trip or even a day hike as it is so versatile and comfortable too.

Backpack straps are easy to store/retrieve

Just completed my first trip with the bag. Found the backpack straps a breeze to stow and un-stow--even with the bag packed full (other bags make it tough to re-stow straps when the bag is full). I was pleased with how compact and streamlined the bag is when they were stowed, and the many small pockets and stash points made it easy to hide a tracking tag, along with my many little doodads.

Great Carry-on backpack

Great backpack, I'm traveling using it as my carry-on, no issues with Avianca, British airways and KLM so far. It is sturdy backpack, I like the structure and fits my laptop perfectly, 15" but width of a 17"
All the Access and compartments adds great versability
And knowing that I have lifetime warranty givers me peace of mind
I would recommend this to a friend!
