I have the everyday backpack v1 and the smaller upgrade in size is impressive along with the flexibility of the packing cubes makes this even better.

Durable, go-to travel bag
on September 30, 2020

Loving my new 45L travel backpack. It's durable and extremely practical, as the amount of storage compartments and expansion options are countless. I have place for everything from small items, to phone and laptop chargers, to a dedicated iPad and laptop sleeve, to expansion options to give the bag more volume when I'm going on a little bit longer of a trip than a weekend trip. I use this bad almost every weekend and keep it close by so I can grab it and go! It's even better when you have packing cubes for organization, the shoe pouch, and bag for your toiletries, all which fit perfectly inside.

Expectation Met & Exceeded
on October 1, 2020

I travel for work (professional contractor) roughly 3 weeks out of the month and depend on great travel gear. I need something that can hold up to 5+ days of clothes, some camera gear (drone & action cameras), and ready for different weather climates. I originally backed another Kickstarter campaign while my colleague went with Peak. Long story short, I made a mistake. I've since corrected the mistake by purchasing the 45l backpack, 10l sling, compression bags, camera bag, and shoe pouch. Everything is built perfectly to accommodate all of the accessories. My current set-up provides me everything I need while jumping from plane to plane, taxi to taxi, hotel to hotel. In the 45l there are a ton of pouches for whatever you need and they do not impede the main portion of the bag. I love the metal/aluminum frame too, keeps a half filled bag from appearing slouchy on your back. What's also great about the 45l is that you can slim it down which is perfect when I am hitting a projects after checking out of a hotel and don't want the hassle of a large bag (assuming I do not need the extra space). I watch many videos before committing to Peak and boy have my expectation been met, actually exceeded. I am looking at the wash and tech pouch next but gotta save some $$ first haha.

best travel/home backpack ever!

I love my PD travel backpack. I got the sage color thinking of all the dust and dirt that won't be as visible and to keep the bag cooler when I'm in hotter environment. It is very comfortable and so durable. I've felt very comfortable to put my bag down wherever so I can focus on my shooting. It is easy to clean as well! Having the ability to convert the bag into whatever your excursion requires makes this the perfect bag for me. I love the expandability as well. Many people have also commented that it's a very nice looking bag. The company speaks for itself with their products. It's like walking with an advertisement due to just passing inquiries. Highly recommend this bag and the packing cubes!

I just completed my first trip with my new Peak Design travel bag. I took the Amtrak from Chicago to El Paso and am now flying back to DC. The travel bag is extremely easy to use, holds my electronics, clothing, and all the necessities of travel. Love this bag and would highly recommend to others.

Totally cool

I am a collector of backpacks and travel luggage and I already own a lot of PD products. I also baked the travel backpack campaign where I limited myself to taking the backpack accessories only and finally decided to place the order for the big boy. So I'm using it with its accessories and everything works beautifully. I'm using without its accessories and everything works perfectly too, except having to bother myself a minute more to better organize the space (I did this only once, why should I bother myself?) I love the fact that the backpack can change the size thanks to the zips and the clip which allows me to go out for a photo session without seeming to leave for Antarctica. On the other hand, the possibility to expand the backpack by travelling by train or by car allows me to carry more stuff without having the hassle of checking in. I love the way to open it because it allows me to immediately take my beloved Macbook and I'm able to use it wherever I am. I'm waiting for the right time to buy the tripod because it perfectly fits the side pocket. Of course, I would add. With regards to the photographic issue, I use the Cube Small that I easily hooked to the backpack. Good job PD! Keep it up! Greetings from Italy

You'll need a time machine to find a better backpack...
on October 24, 2020

You need this backpack. The only way you'll find a better travel backpack is if you acquire a time machine to travel into the future and buy the next version of this pack from Peak Design. If you travel with a laptop, this pack pairs nicely with the PD Tech Pouch for all those dingly dongles ya got floating around. I travel around and teach SketchUp (not so much in 2020, though), and this pack has been really great for keeping all the things in places where I can find/get to them when needed. This pack is also surprisingly comfortable when loaded up. It sounds ridiculous to write this, but I have seriously considered using this pack on multi-day backpacking trips because my North Face 40L isn't nearly as comfortable. Perhaps PD will branch out and make something purpose-built for navigating dirt trails as well. Anyway, if you're still reading this... you've already wasted too much time not having this backpack.
