PAC for Adventure
on January 10, 2019

This is the perfect bag for traveling having adventures with a photo equipment. The size is perfect for flying but its capacity is still impressive. The shoulder straps are long enough for winter tours with a thick jacket. The only thing that could be improved are the plastic rings maintaining the ends of the shoulder straps. A great product that I warmly recommend.

Best Carry-On

As per always, Peak Design thinks through every detail with their products. I bought this as a way to reduce keep things simple as a grab-and-go pack for trips. Depending on the length of the trip, I bring this but supplement it with a small duffel for longer trips (Patagonia 40L or 60L depending on trip/gear required).
I like how modular Peak Design made this bag and that it works so well with all of it's accessories. The packing cubes make it great to separate and plan out what I'm going to be bringing. If you're a traveler that has to bring everything you own, yeah buy this pack and a 90L bag to go along with it. For me, I can fit what I need and a few luxury wants. Plus with the expansion, there is a little wiggle room for purchasing more.
I love throwing the Travel Line in the overhead and then use my Tech Pouch during the flight. The pack by itself is a little on the heavy side. It has all the bells and whistles to make it a little heavier-- magnets to close things shut, zippers everywhere etc. I'm okay with the weight because it's not like I'm going backpacking with it. For me, I was looking for a pack that I can stow straps and stuff into itself. That way going through security and sticking it on a plane isn't a chore. The Travel Line does this perfectly and in an elegant way.

Better than Luggage
on January 10, 2019

I spent many years hating on backpacks because of how awful they were back in grade school--structureless sacks for stuffing a locker's worth of books and back pain. But last year I made a trip to Thailand that required a lot of hoofing, so I bought three backpacks to figure out what I'd want to carry--an Osprey Sojourn 80L, a PacSafe Vibe 40L, and a Peak Design 20L, and their innovations and utility made me rethink backpacks. I brought the Osprey and the PacSafe, but the Peak Design Everyday Backpack got the most use when I returned despite its low volume.
Then the Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack arrived, and it blew the others away on both innovation and utility, including the 20L Everyday Backpack. It doesn't need much help keeping things organized and accessible, and holds enough for a long weekend when I need to dress for dinner, and I successfully used it as a domestic flight carryon in its collapsed form on Southwest. Not needing to check luggage saved me an hour queuing before the return flight, and got me out the local airport while other passengers who disembarked well before me were still meandering around the baggage claim waiting for the belt to start. Had I not needed to wait for the entire plane to empty out before I could go to the rear for the overhead compartment where my bag had been stowed, I might have felt even a little guilty.

Great Overall Bag
on January 10, 2019

I've only had the opportunity to actually use the bag a couple times, but it exceeded my needs. Used with the packing cubes and wash pouch, this thing is a beast, which translates to really freaking awesome. I am slightly on the Konmari side of the tidy spectrum, so these tools absolutely fit my lifestyle. I love how everything compacts and fits together perfectly. It can hold more than you think, and honestly, 99% of the time I found myself taking 1-2 more shirts, underwear, socks than I really needed. I most recently went on a trip that consisted of 3 days in Savannah, GA, then straight to Nashville, TN for another 3 days. I was able to do a load of laundry during that trip, but the travel bag and all accessories carried exactly what was needed for the trip. Really looking forward to using this thing for the long haul. My Everyday Messenger has held up great for two years, so if this thing will last then I can't rate it high enough. You won't regret the purchase!

One bag to rule them all...

I had been eyeing the PD everyday backpack for a while before I saw the Kickstarter for this bag, and I am SO HAPPY I WAITED! Everything about this bag is so well thought out and executed. I use it every day and for travel and have been pleased with both use cases. The various pouches make it so all my things are well organized and easy to find. 11/10, highly recommended.

Great Multi Purpose Travel Bag
on January 10, 2019

I got this bag and have used it for so many little trips. It's been my carry on bag (packed with my camera and clothes - using the packing cubes). Also it's doubled as my daily work pack — tracking to meetings and coffee shops with my MacBook , mobile editing hard drive, & around town. It's also doubled as my set bag when I work on movie sets — bringing all my personal items with me.
Great overall bag and super well designed. So many sling options and ways to access contents/gear. Freaking well designed & also super slick!
I backed the project on Kickstarter and actually really love the bag. It's super classy and well designed for multi faceted functions.
Just two tidbits of feedback:
1.) Make all the zippers a little less stiff. They are good and solid, but the front pouch zippers and the big back zippers seem to sometimes stick (especially when packed decently). Maybe it's a weighted pack issue.
2.) Strap placement on the shoulders isn't the best. When fully loaded with clothes and a small camera cube, it digs into the shoulders deep. Basically they land too wide and are just not built like a true backpacking straps (unlike straps on Deuter, Kelty or even Shimoda Design's Packs). Those packs all sit just right. I went 20 minutes through security and my shoulders felt sore.

By far the most ideal travel backpack!
on January 11, 2019

I am a big fan of backpack and thru out these years have gotten several popular travel backpacks, as much as possible I try not to check in any luggage and use the backpack as the only storage for my travelling (mostly by air). Have not found any backpack that is perfectly suited until I received and use this backpack for my recent travelling.
Totally love the packing systems, the hidden pockets, good material quality, the sleek hidden mechanism for the backstrap. Do watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJRy3DlLbJ0 just to make sure you don't miss any feature that exist in this backpack. To me this is the most ideal backpack for my travelling.

Great bag, with some quirks
on January 11, 2019

First off, I'd give this bag 4.5 out of 5 stars, it's definitely a ‘A' level bag. Well thought out and does a bit of everything.
Cons: It's a bit long. I'm short, but with a relatively longer torso and the bag rests on my tailbone and butt. If it were an inch shorter there wouldn't be any issues. And because it rests there it rubs a bit. And what the heck is that little pocket on the back supposed to carry? Should have made it bigger for a wallet stash! Next, the snaps that lower the dimensions of the bag when not fully filled unsnap easily and do not snap as easily; small gripe. Last con: I wish we could have received high end YKK zippers. I'm nervous about these and don't know if they'll last high tension loads when this thing is jammed full.
Pros: great straps. Like, super great straps. I'm fairly wide and have pretty large shoulders and traps (and the alluded to large caboose) and these are very comfortable and accommodating. The materials of the bag are amazing; they shed water and dirt well. The stash pocket for the rain cover is genius and has saved me once already. (Pro tip: carry a little rain jacket in there for yourself as well!). Straps are an amazing addition and the water bottle pockets are perfect. Internal organization for stuff is pretty limited and I think assumes you're using the tech pouch.
Great bag - highly recommend it!
