Craft ice for the win!

This fridge is a replacement for my previous LG fridge. The last fridge needed a new compressor after just 3.5 years and then again after 7 years. I swore I wouldn’t buy LG again, but I wanted to match the rest of the appliances. So far this one is working great. I’ll update this review, if needed, as the years go on. So far this fridge keeps its temps, is quiet, and makes great craft ice.

Bad Design

this is an odd yet expensive refrigerator.
where do i start ... First of all the doors dont open very wide so it makes it hard to get things in and out of the refrigerator. im not a huge guy but when both doors are open , my arms hit the sides of the doors when i reach into it. also both doors need to be fully open to get the cheese and meat drawer to slide.
the craft ice maker is kind of a gimmick, it takes up a lot of space, and even though the ice container looks big it will only fill it to one layer, which wastes more space , also it only makes a couple ice cubes a day even on the fast mode , which wouldn't be a big deal if the regular made enough ice to fill a Stanley cup, but it cant keep up, and also the door ice maker has a tendency to freeze up so you need to open it from time to time to break up the ice in the door ice maker. the dispenser for the door ice maker is really kinda slow too , you will stand there for a bit filling a large cup.
i contacted LG about my issues with the doors , but they told me sorry you bought so you own it
all in all it feels like a really cheap build and i wouldn't suggest you buy this unit , i wish i hadn't ... in fact i wouldn't buy an appliance from LG again

Simply Upgraded

We upgraded our fridge just about a week ago and are super pleased. The sleek stainless finish and simple design gives our fridge a sleek look. The zero clearance doors really do help maximize tight spaces without compromising full use of the fridge storage. The shelves are deep as is the dual shelved freezer. The one drawback is losing a bit of shelf space on the door where the ice-maker is installed. However, the dual ice-maker with craft ice and app features are a nice bonus!
