[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had a Whirpool refrigerator before so I stuck with the same brand. The ice cube maker is a bit loud, but it makes crushed. There is an emblem that lights up on the panel if the door is left open, no beep or sound. I do miss having a sound alert.

Planning ahead always works for anyone. We came from a crampy Amana side-by-side that we had for the past 9 years, no retired to the back porch, and upgraded our selves to this cavernous beauty. As with any purchase you all need to really, really, prepare yourselves to receive your new appliance, even read the digital manuals -before arrival-, familiarize yourself with the install. Purchase your own stainless mesh covered water line, the black fiber covered one that will come with the installation is not good. That's what we did proactively. Even monitoring the temperature in the kitchen to avoid condensation. Of course wipe clean all interior surfaces of your new fridge, as a first step. Here is what we did: 1) Flush the new water line for 5-10 minutes before connecting it to the refrigerator, to remove any factory dirt or debris. 2) Turn OFF the ice maker from the front panel, connect the water line to the fridge, then open the valve. 3) Flush the water dispenser (and consequently the water filter) with at least 1 gallon of water, we did 2 gallons; yes people read the instructions of the filter, it needs to be flushed every-single-time you install a new one. 4) Turn ON the ice maker from the front panel. 5) Configure your shelves the way it works best for you. 6) Let the fridge sit -with no food in it- for a day or two. We had thermometers inside both compartments to make sure it was reaching the desired temperatures. We left the freezer at the default of 0 degrees F, but lowered the fridge to 37 degrees F; yes I like anything liquid very cold. 7) Dump all the ice made in that day or two. 8) Once that fridge is stable after that day or two, then-and-only-then place your goods inside it. You might want to enable the "fast cool" after you finish filling the fridge and freezer. Most of the indicated above is what the majority of the bad reviewers did not do, thus having bad experiences. About the door and the alarm, people you only have to make sure you closed the door(s) before walking away, -do not- hope it closed, -do not- hope to be alerted by an alarm or that little red light, we are not children, close the door shut, then walk away. We waited exactly 60 days of operation to review this new fridge WRFF3436RZ00 which we ordered directly from Whirlpool at a better price than the hardware store, and it have performed as designed, advertised and manufactured for. Noisy? Water valve filling the ice maker once in a while, very hush motor running to keep temperatures, ice dispensing a little "wild"?. That is not noisy, unless you wish to be very quiet at 3AM. We have no complaints so far, as it is supposed to be: install and forget. Good purchase of the fridge we ever wanted.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Refrigerator roughly a month ago because of the name. The ice maker is NOT making ice. Yes water is coming from the water outlet. I now have to call for repair.

Bad decision on our part
