We purchased this microwave based on the excellent 25 year service we received from our previous GE unit. This unit is a comparable model.
Everything is fine EXCEPT;
the power cord of this new unit does not reach the outlet in the same location as our previous unit. The solution in the instruction manual states to never use an extension cord but to call an electrician and have an outlet installed. This is utterly ridiculous!! Remove one microwave, install another in same place and need to add an outlet... VERY INCONVENIENT. I question whether i will purchase another GE product based on this unacceptable situation.

I've had this microwave for a little over a month. I like the looks of it, it works well, and the price was reasonable. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the door. A bit too lightweight and plastic rather than more solid (as was my last GE microwave).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does everything well

We had a similar microwave from GE that lasted ten years and was a star performer. It did everything well. Every button worked better than we have ever had from any other microwave. When it finally died, we ordered another one like it.

White in and out

Bought an out box at great price. Way bigger the old dieing Sharp of 15 years. Controls are simple and easy to use. Had to have 1100 watt power to match the old. And 1.4 compared to old 1.1. Basically looks a little taller then that old sharp. Which is better yet for those taller objects... Bowls, etc. Old one saw this new one and now has second life still popping corn. Table which was stopping and making noise now is seeming better. So now have this great new one just waiting in the box ready for that Sharp not to be so. And best still white inside and out. Not gray or black like most new models. Can see to clean when white...
I would recommend this to a friend!
