I thought I would need these. I have had old cats in the past that needed steps getting up into my bed. When I first got the litter robot 4, the cats wouldn't use them, so I removed the ramps. They began using them right away! I will keep the ramps as they age, I may need them.
Initially we did not have the hinge in place correctly and the cats were wary of the movement of the steps. When the direction says CLICK in place it really means it. Once we did the set up correctly it was used by our 17 year old female cat with no problem. The 7 and 9 year olds are BIG cats and prefer no step but will use the setup w/ramp as we have it now. Easy to clean litter tracks by tipping the step up vertically.
I purchased the ramp so my elderly arthritic cat could easily climb into the Litter Robot. Sometimes she would just choose to do her business right in front of the robot, and I think it was just too hard for her to jump up. Problem solved, no more deposits outside the box. She’s happy so I’m happy.
Seems like a good product, easy to install. My cat refuses to use them and would rather jump from the side into the box, hoping with time she figures it out and learns to use them....but lets be honest we are talking about cats.
