I did a ton of research before purchasing the LR4 and I thought I had a great set up, but one of my two cats would not use the LR and I couldn't figure out why. He wasn't afraid of it, in fact, I'd put him inside the LR and he would just stay, but wouldn't go in it on his own. Finally I figured out that he liked his old dirty box because it was easier to climb in and out of. See, my second cat has shorter legs and I think he found it difficult to use until I purchased the ramp for him. Now, no problem whatsoever. The entire process of acclimating the cats to the LR and finding the right litter has taken about 2 months, but it really is worth it. I'm actually super impressed with it all and proud of my cats for using it.
My cat is a little older and I was concerned about her jumping up and down to her LR4. Misty took to the stair right away. The stairs attached easily, made out of sturdy materials and I couldn't be happier.
This ramp is flimsy and seems cheap in construction for the price. It wobbles when placed on the robot, and when my 12-year-old cat walks up it, it seems unsteady so he prefers to jump up without the stairs. The robot cannot be moved without it falling off. I have not used it since realizing that my cat prefers not having it.
I purchased the steps just in case they weren't available 16 years down the road. My cat is only 2, but he loves his new stairs! Plus, as ie gets older, and has to deal with aches and pains, the stairs will make it easier for him to use his Litter Box 4! I also bought the cleaning wipes and spray to keep them neat and tidy. A great investment for both of us!! ????
