Good backpack that could have been great

I bought the everyday backpack v2 a few months ago and have used it extensively. This backpack is really well designed but falls short (in my opinion) in three areas: 1. The straps are too thin and you can feel the weight of the items you are carrying after a few hours of use. 2. The design of sternum strap leaves a lot to be desired as it is dry fiddly to use. 3. The design of the internal dividers is very innovative but I believe the PD engineers should have designed them to be stiffer and more able to stand up and take the weight of the gear stowed when folded up. I do not feel very confident that my expensive camera gear is entirely protected when in transit. Incorporating these dividers into the camera cubes and making the cubes compatible with the Everyday Backpack as a self contained more protective solution is a much better idea.
Otherwise, I love PD products.

Practical and fashionable

I got my backpack three years ago. The quality is just amazing, it looks so good and is so clever to use and practical. Believe it or not, I am from Germany and visiting some trade shows, especially gaming like devcom and gamescom. Not that people asked my about my great everyday backpack, I even made friends, because they used it too and they always have their backpacks with them. When you got once one of them, you won’t use another backpack for the rest of your life! Being a mom now, it comes in handy for babystuff aswell and is so great to organize! Thank you, for the great design, amazing features and the absolutely amazing quality. (Thank you Adam Hicks, for bringing this great company into my life ;P , guys why no emojis?!:D)

best camera/commute backpack ever

My 30-liter version suits in every situation. Various trips, commute, work, with camera or not. It's so well thought and integrated to the PD ecosystem! It's super comfortable no matter how much stuff you fit inside. For extra stability on the back there's the chest strap. Never needed the hip strap.

Best backpack I've ever seen let alone used so far

I bought the 20l Ash variant a few weeks ago. I was a little wary of dumping this much money on a backpack, but boy is it ever worth it.
This backpack solves literally all the gripes I've had with other backpacks so far. Being able to divide the main compartment into lots of smaller compartments that hold your stuff in place without compromising accessibility to anything is amazing. Add in the myriad of thoughtfully designed dedicated pouches all throughout the thing, the external carry straps, incredibly satisfying magnets everywhere, and in my opinion great look, and this is basically the perfect backpack as far as I'm concerned.
There's only two minor negatives I've identified so far: - The "small stuff"-compartment that's accessible through the same zipper as the notebook and tablet compartments shares its space with the big main compartment (it kind of hangs into it - see attached photo), and is separated from it only by the stretchy, thin fabric the compartment is made of. It works great so far, but while rummaging about in the main compartment, I'm always a little worried I'll get caught in something that sits in the small compartment and accidentally damage that fabric holding it. - The little tag with the serial number for registering the backpack sits tucked away in one of the small pouches and is incredibly hard to get to. I actually resorted to sliding my mobile phone in and taking a picture, instead of just reading the tag myself. This could be made a little more accessible. This is a one-time only, extremely minor annoyance, but wanted to mention it.
Overall, greatly recommended, and I'm a little sad that the pandemic situation doesn't allow for more opportunities to use it.

Well made and stylish but subpar should straps.

I use this mostly for daily carry of a laptop, lunch + a few personal items. For that use case, it's a pretty nifty bag. The only issue, however is that even with modest loads, the shoulder straps (and useless sternum strap) are pretty uncomfortable. I've found the weight threshold of discomfort to be about two six packs + computer. Anything more than that had better not be for long.
Keep it light and you'll be fine. Mine is the 20L. Be wary of the larger version - that would be too easy to overload.

The only bag I need

I've been using this bag as both an everyday carry and a camera bag. The bag physically transforms internally (thanks to the included dividers) to provide me with ultimate flexibility. I love that the bag can be accessed from both sides as well as from the top depending on how I've set up the internal compartment.
