Fantastic bag

I got the 20L second hand, switching from a boundary errant (24L I believe). This bag is fantastic, I primarily use it for school and light hiking, plenty of space and a ton of organizational options.
Only gripe is that the bottleholders aren't great - they're great for storage, but I can only barely fit my relatively slim water bottle in if I have anything in the bag so I usually just put it in one of the internal side compartments.

I've owned this backpack three years and am coming back to review it.

I never leave reviews, but this bag has served me so well, I needed to come and write about it. I originally bought this backpack to use as a photography gear bag. I used it as a commuter style bag to haul my lenses, camera, and computer to and from work, shoots, and around town, which it did a great job at! A year later I decided to travel for an extended period of time. This bag was the only one that came with me on that year of travel. I know that's not what it's intended for, but I wanted a bag that would cradle my camera, be big enough to bring many things, but also throw under my seat of an airplane. I have repeatedly over-stuffed this bag, filled it with the heaviest things, dropped it in water, thrown it around, gotten it dirty, you name it. I've taken this bag literally through the Sahara desert, on salty and wet boat rides, through rain storms, hundreds of buses, planes, etc. Through all of this it has held up as well as it has since day one. I'm beyond impressed that it has taken my abuse so well. The bag is so well built and insanely durable. Because I got the gray color, it doesn't even look dirty after all that. Every aspect is so well designed and so thoughtful. I delight in the hidden features it has. This bag is uber functional and practical and still looks great. If you're debating it, just do it. It'll be the last backpack you'll buy for a long time. I'm three years into owning it and it still shows little wear.

This bag is great! I carry a lot of equipment with me and this is perfect for keeping it all compartmentalized and organized. It also looks just right, like I'm not trying too hard but it's chic, sporty and cool- love it!

Believe the hype

I've worn and used a lot of backpacks over the years and even though this pack isn't a cycling specific pack, it really works well for my bike commute duties while still being versatile enough for dad adventures on the weekend or airline travel for business. If you can only be bothered to own one pack, own the best, own this do-it-all wonder.

I have been looking for a bag that is built for a photographer and someone that is active when they shoot. This backpack is well built, well thought out, and versatile for when I switch up what I carry.
Looking forward to using it for years to come.

I couldn't be happier with the 20L everyday backpack. It's the perfect size for my everyday needs it's sleek and classy enough to be business casual for meetings but rugged enough for adventuring around the city. I love the flexibility to have the main compartment to adjust to fit my needs with dividers while also having the option to be completely open for larger items. I'm am able to easily fit my 15" MacBook Pro and camera gear. Even fully loaded the backpack feels very comfortable when worn for long periods of time. A great investment!

Not quite as good as the V1
on November 30, 2019

First off, this is a great bag, don't get me wrong. I just think it's not worth the upgrade from a V1. I have owned PD products for years, have many of their bags, and have had a V1 for years, and so ordered the v2 on release day, as I was eager to compare them. It all comes down to materials for me. The materials high quality, but to me they're not as pleasing and don't feel as good or durable. The side access is easier to open and the zipper is improved for sure, but the side panels don't open almost 180° like V1. The side panel zippered pockets' storage areas were more varied on V1, meaning more storage options. The shoulder straps are more comfortable, but the material on them feels softer/less durable, and the straps are less attractive. There are a few other subjective preferences, but I won't drag on. This is still a great bag overall. If the V1 was a 5/5 to me, this is a 4.5/5.
