need a little diy

Regarding the issue of the lid not sealing properly, I believe it is a design flaw in version 2. Its straps are attached to both ends of the bag, whereas version 1 has them on the back, with the two ends relatively close together. The design of version 2 causes the top lid to be pulled outward on both sides, a problem that version 1 does not have. Therefore, after getting version 2, I still followed the previous method by punching holes in the back and attaching two pieces cut from an old waist belt. This allows PD's camera strap to pass through the holes and connect to the waist belt pieces. It might sound a bit complicated—I will upload a photo later.
PS: I updated DIY. In fact, it is easier to follow the PD design and directly pass through a belt. In addition, I compared it and found that V2 is still a little larger than V1.
Because I couldn't say goodbye to my well travelled, battered Peak Design Field Pouch V1—that clips into my backpack waist strap using two anchor links and is just right for a Fuji X100F with a few extra bits and bobs—I bought the V2 in black for said camera, and a lot more bits and bobs! Packed down small and worn with the shoulder strap its a discreet, stylish, lightweight, showerproof 'little black bag' for a camera and/or whatever and perfect for travel. But the beauty is that it 'grows' and grows!!! My only (little) grizzle is I'd have loved a wider strap. All up, amazing PD quality and thoughtful design—as always.

You can't go back to not using it

It's super! Easy to use and access while traveling, and perfect for the daily commutes to organise my gears. It's been a month that I've been using it and I don't remember how it was before I got it, superb materials too. It's everything it promises and more.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not nearly as useful as the Field Pouch V1.

I have a few of the Field Pouch V1. Even though I don't use them super often, one particular instance where I do use a Field Pouch is to quickly add an extra 2+/- liters to any of my Peak Design Everyday Slings by using the "belt loops" to slide it onto the sling's strap. This allows for adding a light kit or bunch of filters and charger pretty much on-the-fly. I use my midnight 6L sling the most and thought I would get a matching Field Pouch V2. So far, though, I have found absolutely zero use for the Field Pouch V2. I may just be used to arranging things in the V1, but the interior pockets of the V2 are practically useless, not to mention being made much less robust then the old version. The interior pockets are all too small and the same [kind of lame] thin, unrefined slits of fabric that are in the tech pouch and other new bags. I can’t even fit a camera battery charger in any of the pockets of the Field Pouch V2.
Here is what I would like to see in future Field Pouches:
1. Revert back to the old pocket arrangement. I'm not opposed to the zipper part being on the back panel but all of the other new pocket sizes are too small.
2. The Field Pouch should come in sizes - three, to be precise. The current model should be the "medium". There should also be a "small" at about half the width of the current version - this would be useful for filters or a small camera. Then there should be a "large" that is at least 50% wider - I would love for the Field Pouch to be able to hold a travel tripod (any tripod larger than a tabletop but smaller than full-size).
3. The strap should be a separately-purchased add-on. Most other similar straps on the PD site can be purchased separately - make it available for those that might actually use it instead of including it in all Field Pouches.
4. Having the Field Pouch be Capture compatible should be a "nice to have" but I really don't think it's useful enough to be on the bag at all. I don't use Capture with this bag - does anyone else really? The bag could be much better to compress without all of the fabric to make those loops. (Honestly - on all PD bags - I would prefer to see similar loops in a horizontal orientation to be able to attach other things like a water bottle pouch.)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hook is not as secure as I thought

Had used it as a sling bag for a year. Take a little force to install the hook. Feel it is secure but I was wrong. The hook is mysteriously detached a few times. The only good thing is that I didn't lose anything.
And for a better detail, should velcro sew the last?

Poor design

This bag was a gift for me to keep my wallet, credit cards, keys, and telephone. I am not happy with it, because the strap will not stay attached to the bag. Whenever I get out of the car or it gets bumped, the strap falls off and it falls to the ground and gets dirty if the weather is bad.. For this reason it is nearly useless, and I can never find my keys in it. The design of the strap attachment is terrible. It would hard to design it worse.

Super functional man purse / fanny pack

I realized recently that i’m tired of stuffing my pockets. Wallet, phone, keys were somewhat manageable, but once our phones got bigger and we started adding airpods and masks to the mix it started to become unwieldy and unsightly. I saw a bunch of gen-z’ers resuscitating fanny packs from the 90s and realized they might be onto something. My millennial envy compelled me to investigate further.
I was a bit nervous about buying the field pouch since it’s one of the lower reviewed Peak Design products. I can only speak for my use case, but I love this thing. I bought it about two months ago and used it for both everyday carry as well as during recent domestic and international travel. Very occasionally I stuffed a camera (Sony a7Rii) in there with either a 35mm or in one case my 24mm gmaster.
One thing worth mentioning is that I don’t use the default strap that came with it; instead, I opted for the Slide strap since it’s so easy to adjust on the fly. I sling the strap across my shoulder and usually allow the field pouch itself to rest on my side or behind me. In crowded spaces or when wearing the travel backpack I’d swing it to the front so I could keep a closer relate on it.
At all times I kept my keys, phone, wallet, chapstick, and a pen in my field pouch. When I was out for longer I’d bring my iphone charger too. During travel it was handy to keep my passport and hold onto receipts in the zipped compartment. On sunny days I often carried my sunglasses in their soft case in the pouch as well. Mask and tissues/wipes were commonly in there too.
All of the above were my “baseline” everyday carry during my travels and the field pouch was perfect for holding all of these items — the pouch still had a slim profile and never felt bulky. I was not only achieving my goal of having nothing in my pockets, but also carrying “just-in-case” items without having to bring something bulky or heavy like a sling bag or backpack. Another key advantage is that in the airport nobody counts the pouch as a personal item since it’s so small and attached to your body so in transit I was able to carry-on my Travel Backpack, my (old school) 10L Everyday Sling and the Field Pouch. I could also consolidate and stuff it into either bag when I needed to.
For everyday carry the field pouch is a delight. I didn’t mind the velcro at all - I felt that traveling Europe it added some peace of mind since if anybody tried to pickpocket me I would probably hear it. Less convenient during a quiet meeting or when in a movie theater, of course. But as long as i wasn’t overpacking I felt velcro did a secure enough job of protecting things. Would I prefer magnets? Sure. But at this price point I really am not bothered by velcro as much as others seem to be.
The only time when I really pushed the limits of the Field Pouch was when I tried to bring my camera with me. In those cases I’d usually take out most of the items so that my camera and my Cuff would be the only in the pouch. In these cases since my full body mirrorless camera was relatively large, the pouch would be in it’s unfolded form and the velcro just barely closed. In these cases I felt more nervous so again would swing the pouch in front of me keep a closer eye. Overall though I decided fairly early on that this would not be a primary way of carrying around my camera; I’d only resort to this in a pinch. Smaller cameras would probably work better.
Overall a clutch purchase that I’m happy about. The key is generally not to overstuff it and you’ll be fine. Finally it looks really sleek in midnight and I’ve received lots of compliments. Gen-z‘ers watch out! This functional field pouch is almost making look and feel as hip as you.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am really enjoying the Field Pouch V2. I got it to have less stuff in my pants pockets. When I go on photo walks, I usually don't need all that I carry, so this makes things a lot easier. Seems like great quality and I also like the way it looks and use it for an everyday carry in the warmer weather.
