I use this to store my FE lenses mostly and as an insert for my Travel backpack when I want to take more gear. I've only used it with the pack once but I love how seamlessly it integrates. I'm not great at organizing things so it took me a while to figure out how to get everything to fit snuggly in the cube. The tutorials were very helpful as I was initially overwhelmed by all of the options! Good problem to have. I can envision it as a bag to carry some of my vintage Canon FD lenses to a location, but it's too big to double as a small camera bag like the small cube does. No complaints as it is great to have this many options. Construction and materials are, of course, top notch as expected from PD. I feel like I owe it to the cube to take it out and use it.
I received the large cube last month and have changed my layout until I found what works best for me. I love how I can change the layout for when I get new lenses.
I got this to hold my new drone. The Small size is perfect for my drone, the remote controller, with room to spare. Right now I’m using the extra room for sunscreen and bug spray. But it would also hold extra batteries. I like the moveable pocket. I’m using mine with a PD strap I already had.
I have bought the Camera Cube V2 in 3 different sizes (S/SM/M). I can customise my equipment selection for most jobs and the gear fits nicely into my Mystery Ranch rucksack. I highly recommend these cubes to anyone who is looking for a smart kit storage/packaging solution.
Well made and at a good price compared to similar products from other manufacturers as far as I can make out.
But on first use, my camera and lenses that I put in it are covered all over in dust and tiny bits of fluff (from the lining presumably). I was honestly shocked and concerned for my gear - it's not environmentally sealed and I'd be surprised if some of this detritus didn't make it inside. I'm sure you could vacuum it out or wipe it all out before using, but it's not a good first impression and not something I've experienced with any other gear, let alone 'premium' gear like Peak's stuff.
I bought the cube to protect two camera bodies in my Breakwater 25lit dry bag. The medium cube was too small- but the large is perfect. The return of the medium was seamless. Looking forward to using it in Antarctica!
