[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced an old HP with this model with the goal of having a superfast computer. Went for the SSD/Optane and it delivered. Since it was custom, it took a while to build but HP beat the projection by 2 weeks. Took my old 1 TB hard drive and slipped it in the new HP in 5 minutes. Couldn't be happier.
I have only been using it for a few days, but overall I am well pleased with the tower. I don't really care for the small keyboard, so I will have to go out and purchase one that is more substantial. Instructions for setup are poorly written; pictures were not helpful. It was very difficult to add yahoo as my home page. I was led to believe by the order form that I was purchasing Word for this computer, but after getting it I was told that I got a one-year "subscription." So, I will have to wait for one year to find out how much money I will have to pay to continue my "subscription."
I'm semi satisfied so far. There are a few things that I've noticed. The power button is receded and in order to push the button, I have to use my finger nail. The material such as the DVD drive seems cheap and does not appear sturdy. I was expecting to get the CD for the Microsoft Office and Windows 10 in case I need to reinstall. There were no instruction manuals except a quick startup guide. I would have preferred the mouse to be a little larger.
This is only a week old but it is all hooked up and working great. It replaces an HP laptop that functioned as my desktop for years (7+) and I am happy with the experience so far. I did have to add a display which is delayed for a while but am able to work using an old monitor. Good purchase decision.
