Stopped working after 3 months

Love the coffee, however the machine sadly stopped working after 3 months of purchase. Tried making coffee, normal light, sound went on, and then an orange flashing light. We tried descaling, cleaning, water cycles, and everything recommended off their website, but it did not fix it. We are getting a replacement however I am now worried about the replacement breaking after a few months. Also wasted a bunch of coffee pods while trying to get the old one working. I would not recommend purchasing this machine.

I purchased this and they claim that the descaling is only once every few months and its not. Its much more often and always when i am running late.

Do not buy!

Just google ‘Vertuo Next Leaking’ - the internet is full of complaints. Obviously, these machines have a design flaw but Nespresso don’t care: very conveniently for them, my machine broke down two weeks after the meager 1-year warranty.

Loved it at first

We loved it when we got it. It lasted about a year, customer service sent us a free replacement after trying to troubleshoot over the phone. Now the replacement is messing up in under a year. Great and fun machine when it works. But sadly, it doesn't work very well…

Fail often

I'm now waiting for my fifth Nespresso machine. I received one as a gift a little over 14 months ago and four have failed. While Nespresso has graciously replaced each one, I'm tired of dealing with failed machines.

Received as gift around december 2021. After 2 weeks of non use, it would not brew coffee. Have tried all the videos to start up, clean and descale. Not sucessful. L Labinski

We got this machine replaced TWICE in 5 months because it would stop brewing coffee. When you press the button it would heat up then show 2 orange blinks and then stop working. First I thoight I needed to descale it but that didn’t work. Nespresso customer service is great so they sent us a THIRD replacement but this time we asked them for a different machine so they sent us the Evuolo. Fingers crossed for that one.

I really miss my original Vertuo

I had my original Vertuo for 4 years and it was incredibly dependable: between my wife and I we average over 1,000 pods a year, and it had no issues until after 5,000ish brews. The tech couldn’t troubleshoot it over the phone, so we thought we’d replace it with the Next. What a mistake!
If I go more than two sleeves without running the cleaning cycle, I am guaranteed that the machine will not be able to brew a pod. So more or less every morning, I brew myself a coffee and then run a cleaning cycle. The descaling kit didn’t make a difference, this machine just accumulates build up. This was a hard earned lesson: I’ve probably lost at least 30 pods trying to brew, having the machine tell me it can’t read the pod, and then being unable to grab the pod when I open the lid. Between the lost pods and the 30 or so ounces of water I use to clean the machine every day, just incredibly wasteful.
Lastly, from a design perspective, the water on the back is a pain. The machine sticks way out from the wall. If you want a NESPRESSO machine get the Vertuo.
