[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I read a lot of bad reviews about Next but decided to give it a try anyway. The machine looks great but feels flimsy, like it could break any minute. The first steps which are closing and opening were already a challenge, and so based on all the other reviews, I decided to return it and get Vertuo Plus instead and couldn't be happier.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Get a different machine

I have been having trouble with this machine for a few months now. It works just fine for a few days and then starts blinking an orange light twice and then a steady white light and won't brew. I have descaled, cleaned, reset, unplugged, etc. After I've done everything I will continue to try brewing and after many tries it eventually works and goes back to the same problem after a few brews.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't Buy

Very unhappy with this machine. It worked well for the first few months, but since then there have been ongoing issues. The machine will stop working randomly, there will be a bunch of error light, I have to call Nespresso to troubleshoot and the cycle repeats. There are coffee grounds in my coffee, coffee is not hot enough, despite descaling and cleaning frequently. I am extremely disappointed in this machine as I thought the bluetooth connectivity feature indicated what would be top of the line technology. I regret not buying one of the other vertuo machines which seem to have much better reviews. The amount of time put into this machine is not worth it and I'm a coffee lover that is very disappointed.

Don’t buy: breaks repeatedly

A couple of years ago I bought the Vertuo Next as my first Nespresso coffeemaker. The first machine never worked right from day one and then completely broke down 2 weeks later. The company sent me a replacement machine that broke down a few weeks later, for entirely different reasons. The company then sent me my third machine, which broke down about 2 months later, again irreparably and for a different reason. Customer service admitted on the phone to me that this model is a lemon and that it is breaking down for many customers. She offered to send me the original Vertuo model, which has worked beautifully for the last couple of years. I’m really surprised Nespresso hasn’t removed the later model from its inventory, especially given the potential damage to its brand from all of this.

Works when it wants too

These machines make a good strong cut of coffee, but good luck trying to get it to brew. I figured the barcode reader would be an issue and it is. Our machine fails to read the code 90% of the time.

Don't do it!

Ugh. This is a horrible machine. From the beginning, a yellow light kept coming on and it wouldn't make coffee. I have figured a work around that involves some tweaking and a prayer to the coffee goddess every time I use it, but this machine is a true disappointment. And very clunky to open and close. I've used other Nespresso machines and love the coffee they make. Don't buy this one.

Doesn't want to work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right after getting it , I got it all set up and down loaded the app. Read the instructions multiple times and was ready for a great cup of coffee. It kept blinking a light and the app said there was no water in the machine. However it was full of water. After multiple tries it started to work and only made about an inch and a half of coffee. So over this machine!
Cons: Does not make enough coffee in a cup
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

3rd Machine's the Charm

Do not get this one, get Plus. I would have never bought it if I knew it would break 2 times after a few weeks using the first one and 1 week using the second. It looks like the Plus is better, so why not put this in place of it? 3 machines... one too many to go through in a total of 5 weeks or less.
