Malfunctions galore

First Next malfunctioned in multiple ways within a couple of months. Nespresso replaced it. Second machine malfunctioned in even more ways in even a shorter period of time. Replaced by Nespresso this time with a Vertuo Plus, which has proved to be a reliable performer. Save yourself some grief and disregard any impulse you may experience to buy the Vertuo Next.

Won’t last long

It lasted about 1 years, then it started leaking water and year after that stopped working altogether.

Absolute lemon of a machine

In less than 9 months we went through 2 machines. They just stopped working. Don't bother with this machine. It's the worst!

Thank you for your review, Brett. We share in your frustration regarding your experience with your Vertuo Next machine. We certainly want your Nespresso experience to be special and exactly to your satisfaction. Please allow us to provide some user tips that may help. When turning on your machine, allow your machine to warm up. The light will begin to pulse slowly for about 30 seconds, indicating the “warm-up” phase. Once the light is steady the machine is ready for use. Insert your Nespresso capsule, and ensure the lever is fully locked. The lever must go past the lock symbol and there should be a slight click sound when fully locked. For best maintenance for your Vertuo Next, we recommend to always eject the used capsule after every use, run the Clean Cycle once a week to eliminate coffee grounds build up within the brew unit, and descale your machine every three months. All removable spare parts, including the water tank, should be washed by hand at least once a week.
The Vertuo Next comes with a one-year warranty and a lifetime of troubleshooting support through Nespresso. Broke after about 1 year of use.

I received this machine as a gift and it worked fine for about 6 months before breaking. It was in use for 6 months before that. The cleaning process is over complicated on the machine, way too complicated for something that apparently consistently breaks after about 6-12 months of use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

worst machine ever

i bought this less than six months and followed the direction for descaling and it’s been on clean mode ever since i can’t even get coffee out of it. i have wasted multiple pods as a result still trying to resolve this issue

The VertuoNext machine must be descaled every 3 months or every 300 capsules used, whichever comes first. The machine will alert you when it requires descaling. This machine is a total P.I.T.A.

Bottom line - do yourself a favor and pass this machine up and get a better rated machine.
The first machine I bought worked about 75% of the time. When it didn't work, a quick unplug count to 10 and replug generally did the trick. It wasn't long before the machine worked less than 25% of the time without issue.
After several troubleshooting phone calls I was sent a refurbished replacement machine which immediately began leaking all over the kitchen counter.
Currently awaiting the arrival of a new replacement machine, this time a different model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Visually beautiful but horrible machine that dies!

I wanted to love this machine so much. It was an xmas gift for my partner and unfortunately the first machine arrived broken. After having it exchanged, that "new" machine died within months. It stopped functioning and Nespresso replaced it. That replacement lasted me I believe maybe 4 months and again we tried everything and it was dead. They were great enough to replace it again. 1-2 months and again this newest replacement was dead. It wouldn't brew anything, we tried everything and it was simply dead. Being that it was my 4th machine and all 4 were done for in way under a year, Nespresso was amazing enough to replace it with a completely different model, an Evoluo. So far so good.
