Unreliable - Avoid this model at all costs

Currently standing in front of my replacement machine trying to fathom out what is wrong with it now.
Perspective: we purchased our first Nespresso Vertuo at the start of September, it was temperamental at first then started leaking, then point blank stopped working. Nespresso customer service were amazing we troubleshooted together & once it was clear the machine was a dud they sent a replacement, to mu dismay when the replacement turned up it failed to connect to my app irrespective of all the data I entered being correct it continues to say “check password” and a week later the machine has decided to stop working. Reading through these reviews it’s clear that I’m not alone in this poor experience. I’ve not tried other models so I can’t speak to their reliability however I highly recommend you avoid this model.
Agree with other comments that the coffee is fabulous when you can get a cup.

This model is garbage

For best maintenance for your Vertuo Next machine, we recommend to always eject the used capsule after every use, run the Clean Cycle once a week to eliminate coffee grounds build up within the brew unit, and descale your machine every three months. All removable spare parts, including the water tank, should be washed by hand at least once a week.

Leaks water from the top while running from day 1. Leaks water when opening lid. Leaks water when emptying tray. Terrible product. Carafe taste results are inconsistent.

This model has Issues

I got this in December as a gift. Two months later it breaks and nespresso replaced it with the same model. The replacement was working great until today and it is dead. I contacted nespresso and they are replacing with a different model. Customer service has been fantastic so I hope this different model is better than this one. This model deserves one star but the customer service is 5 Stars!

Loved it when it worked. I sent it off for repairs or replacement in December and the was the last I heard of it. I followed up a couple of times but didn’t get anywhere. It’s just gone.

Delicious coffee when the machine works

I bought my first machine and i love the coffee I could make with it- this machine stopped working after about 2 months. I called and was able to get a new one sent to me. I used this second machine for about 3 months and it stopped working too. Definitely would not purchase again.

Do not buy

this machine is not reliable. I have had a pixie for 9 years which has worked well the entire time. This machine has had error codes on and off since the first year. It completely stopped working after year two. I would not recommend anyone buy this machine

A disappointment

"Upgraded" from the VirtuoPlus machine thinking this was the latest and greatest, and it just doesn't work nearly as well.
Initially I thought the coffee didn't quite taste as good, but maybe that was in my head.
The bigger problem is how fast(~2 months) it gets dirty and gets a gross burnt/ashy taste, and the cleaning cycle and cleaning liquid just can't seem to get it clean.
It's now been about 7 months and it has completely stopped working. There are only 2 of us using it on the house, avg 2 coffees each (4 total) per day. We can usually get it to work for one coffee between each cleaning cycle at this point.
We have done the full chemical cleaning with the Nespresso brand cleaner 3 times(every 2 months) and leading up to having to run it between every pod, we would run the "quick" clean probably twice a month on average.
The VirtuoPlus we had for 2 years before getting this "upgrade" and we did the quick clean maybe once every 2 months and the chemical clean every 6 months without having any issues.
The carafe size was an interesting idea, but ultimately we only used it maybe 3 times when we first got it, and decided the single cup quality was just so much better that we didn't want to keep doing the carafe.

To ensure optimal use from your machine, we recommend running a priming cycle through your machine once a week to assist with keeping the taste, texture, body and aroma in each brew.
