It’s buried in the FAQ but you have to use K-cups. Disposable do not work for the Chill feature. K-Cup has announced they are developing a disposable k-cup for 2025 that will work with the system. If you use Kcups then the coffee does come out chilled, like, not even close to room temperature, but much much cooler.
The science of the machine is that the hot water goes into the Kcup and then suctioned out of it which takes the coffee through a cooling process. That’s why the disposable cups don’t work because the suction is not possible with their design.
This is, hands down, the best Keurig there is. The difference in the “brew over ice” feature and the new “quick chill” feature is night and day. The quick chill really does make it as cold as a coffee shop, and retained full flavor of my pod I used! I also appreciate how the engineers of this went out of their way to make it practically maintenance free. The only thing you have to do after initial set up is empty the drip tray, the area under your cup, every 2-3 cold brews you make.

My husband likes hot coffee and I like iced! This is the perfect compromise! The coffee is more flavorful because of the extra holes. The hot is great as always. But the cold/iced option is TRULY cold! No more watered down ice coffee.

Great coffee maker. When standing within 2 feet of it, the sound of the fan is audible, even in quiet mode, but it’s not a nuisance. That’s about the only issue I’ve noticed. The water tank is easy to fill and it’s nice to have cold coffee so easily.

We get great tasting hot and cold coffie. The brew settings are simplified so it's very straight forward. I was very happy to find reuseable pods that work!

Very interesting technology combining both hot and cold. Congratulations to Keurig for cracking the Cold Coffee nut, need to a place to start and build upon, that’s what great companies do. Some notes from the initial experience.
Hot coffee seemed watered down, not as hot as other Keurig Brewers and volume was less than standard 8 oz (all drinks selected at 8 oz.)
For the Cold beverage, surprised that the system required 6 hours to create the chill bank for cooling the coffee, that’s a long time to wait. The first beverage was nice and cold however each subsequent beverage was warmer. The user is only able to brew 4 beverages, the system goes into the chilling mode and takes 6 hours to completely recharge the chill bank. Keurig added a nice rinse feature to minimize cross contamination from one coffee flavor to another. Not sure how well it handles all of Keurig’s flavor.
All in all a fine machine with technologies to be improved upon. Caution not to lose site of what made Keurig a strong brand and company, it’s a Good Cup of Coffee every time.
