We appreciate your interest in a glass container option. The Vitamix Research and Development team continuously researches alternate options for a non-plastic container. At this time, we have not found a suitable glass container design to meet the strict safety and performance requirements we place on our products. With that being said, we continue to research this design and encourage you to stay tuned for updates on new products.
Vitamix uses the best materials to produce a high-quality blender that safely performs according to customer expectations. We use only BPA-Free materials including Eastman Tritan for our blending containers. Vitamix uses only FDA-approved materials for any surface coming in contact with food.

I was a little disappointed with the new Vitamix. I loved my previous one that lasted 10 years. The new one slides all over the counter while using it and struggles with frozen fruit.

Hello, we are sorry to hear of your experience with this product. It is important to remember that all full-size Vitamix blenders are equipped with either a 2 or 2.2 horsepower motor, which moves the blades in the container at a high speed in order to pulverize the ingredients completely. On occasion during blending, especially with thicker mixtures like hummus, frozen desserts and nut butters, you may experience some excess movement/vibration from the motor base on your countertop. This is a result of the machine trying to move the blades through such a dense recipe at the same high speeds.
When this happens, the best thing to do is to first make sure you have your blender on the highest speed setting featured on that unit. Next, place your hand firmly on the lid of your container to steady it while you use your tamper to work the ingredients through the blades. This will help to create an easier flow of the ingredients in the container, which will also help to lessen the vibration. Please keep in mind that certain ingredients and recipes are thick or denser in nature, and some movement while blending is normal.

Was really excited to replace my old Vitamix whose motor went bad. Unfortunately, this little guy is not going to last as long as my old one. I can hear the motor struggling and I think it might be defective. Also has an awful toxic odor that hasn't dissipated yet.

I got my vitamix for an early Xmas present. I have used it every day since I received it. I m very impressed with the auto features and the self cleaning mode. It’s super easy to use. FYI, the power switch is underneath in the back in the right side… lol. Took me a minute if you’ve been considering it.. go for it. One word of warning, it’s louder than I expected but it not a deal breaker for me.
