I was a little disappointed with the new Vitamix. I loved my previous one that lasted 10 years. The new one slides all over the counter while using it and struggles with frozen fruit.

Hello, we are sorry to hear of your experience with this product. It is important to remember that all full-size Vitamix blenders are equipped with either a 2 or 2.2 horsepower motor, which moves the blades in the container at a high speed in order to pulverize the ingredients completely. On occasion during blending, especially with thicker mixtures like hummus, frozen desserts and nut butters, you may experience some excess movement/vibration from the motor base on your countertop. This is a result of the machine trying to move the blades through such a dense recipe at the same high speeds.
When this happens, the best thing to do is to first make sure you have your blender on the highest speed setting featured on that unit. Next, place your hand firmly on the lid of your container to steady it while you use your tamper to work the ingredients through the blades. This will help to create an easier flow of the ingredients in the container, which will also help to lessen the vibration. Please keep in mind that certain ingredients and recipes are thick or denser in nature, and some movement while blending is normal.

It takes 2-3 smoothie cycles for it to properly blend. Also the container moves off center on the base a lot while blending.

Hi there! Vitamix containers are not designed to lock into place. Therefore, it is completely normal for the container shift slightly while on the base. When you turn the unit on, you will notice that the container may shift slightly to the right or the left. This is intended, as the motor base is aligning with the container for optimal performance. If you feel more comfortable, you may place your hand on top of the lid while you blend to better secure the container. However, do not press down on the container in an attempt to “lock” it in place, as doing so could cause damage the motor. Also know that the programs are a suggested time, typically for a single serve smoothie, you may have to blend longer when making a large batch like in this photo. Using you tamper while blending will also speed up the process. Please call us at 1-800-848-2649 and we would be happy to troubleshoot the machine and provide more blending tips.

Noise level is autism kid approved. My child usually gets startled with loud noises (blenders, vacuums, etc.) and with this blender, she doesn’t run away due to the noise. It’s nice knowing that every time I turn it on, it won’t scare my child.

48oz container & tamper holder are game changers!

It's insanely powerful, I used it to make almond butter right when I got it and it worked great! I love the 48 oz container because it's big enough to blend a big soup for a group dinner but also small enough to blend my daily smoothies that I just make a portion size for myself. The tamper holder is great and I use the tamper a lot more now because it's always right there. I got the white version which looks classic and modern in my kitchen. I love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pretty cool machine. The cleaning feature is amazing. Noise is above on par for any other blender/ juicer. I actually made one of the recommended recipes and it was great, kids even liked it. Perk is top is also a great shot measurer. Up next cocktail hour. 4 of out 5 stars mainly for value to price.
