Lightweight, but expander design is bad

Received suitcase, but will be returning, mainly due to the expander design.
In my previous Samsonite suitcase, the expander is within the compartment. So if you expand the luggage, you can put more items inside that compartment and still secure the inner flap so nothing falls out.
In the Uplift design, the expander zipper is OUTSIDE of the inner flap that secures your items. So basically all the items you put in the expanded section is secured by nothing, because the extra items will be on top of the inner flap. So all items in the expansion layer can fall out if you open the luggage with the wrong side facing up.
On the bright side, everything else is good. The suitcase is very light and rolls well.

This luggage has a design flaw that is an embarrassment to their brand. The back hinge on the suitcase is about 5" long. This is a joke and it failed in 11 months with travel about once per month. They replaced it for free with the same defective unit. Do NOT buy as you will be throwing your money away. Always look at how long the back hinge is as compared to other equivalent sized suitcases.

High quality product, from strong handles, gliding double wheels, to smooth, sturdy zippers. The two fully zipper closed sides makes packing & travel use easier to keep clothes organized while traveling. My first use of TSA locking suitcase exceeded my expectations, also. Very satisfied!

No replacement parts

Wish I hadn't bought 3 of the hardside large spinners and 2 of the hardside carryons. On the second trip, a wheel broke. Samsonite doesn't sell replacement wheel assemblies so if this happens on a trip, plan to drag your suitcase home and send it in so they can maybe repair it with the same parts they won't sell you. Need to build it for the environment it will live in!
