[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 2nd X1 Carbon. Really like the overall design (touch screen, keyboard, weight). Only drawback is the slight redesign of the bottom row keyboard layout: Ctrl & Fn were swapped to conform to rest of industry and the fingerprint reader is now crowded on the right side of the row, presumably making the other keys narrower. Kinda gets in the way of holding Ctrl down with the arrow keys to move from word to word. Overall I am still very pleased after a month of use.

As someone who frequently does research online for their job, the large RAM space that the X1 Carbon has is fully appreciated, in combination with the Intel i7 pro chip. After reviewing the different settings on the laptop, I have been able to easily get it to run exactly the way I want it to and appreciate its functionality and adaptability.

I buy competing brands, and the Thinkpad has the best keyboard and fit and finish of the laptops I've ordered this year. You get a tactile feel and positive keypress, without having to look down at your fingers to make sure you hit the right key! I also like the finish on the laptop; neither too 'plasticky' or cold metal.
