Nice watch

I bought this when it was on sale for Black Friday and I love it. It’s accurate in the distance and the workouts/coach is helpful. Much more convenient then to run with my phone

The watch literally lasts forever (don’t lose the charger), it fantastic for whatever you want to track not too expensive and basically has the same features as all the other watches without the music.

Overestimates my heart rate
on December 23, 2024

I bought this product a couple of months ago as a replacement for my old garmin, but found it overestimates my heart rate by about 15 beats per minute when I am exercising. Although this may not sound like much of an issue there ia big difference between a heart rate being 148 and the watch thinking it is 163 or it being 165 and my watch thinking it is 180. The watch has some great features and works perfectly other than this. And yes I followed all the instructions on both the garmin website and what I found online to fix this, but neither were helpful.

I replaced my faithful Garmin Forerunner 35 that I bought in 2020 for the Forerunner 165 because I wanted the latest sensors and chips. I am very happy now with my purchase because it does the good things that the 35 did (long battery life, comfort, and durability) and many, many more. I am beginning to train now for races in 2025 and I like that all the data is visible when running and that the watch suggests training plans.

Using Garmin Coach on this watch has been incredibly helpful to get my running done. It is lightweight and provides all the functional features I need to track my running, overall health and improve it.

Just Right

I thought about buying the 265, but I wasn't sure that I needed whatever extra features the watch has. The 165 is just right for me; I run 1 ultra a year, and I think this should easily last through a 50k. And the holiday price is just right, too.

Got my forerunner for Christmas, looks good on the wrist, comfortable to wear and has a host of options to choose from.
Now I'm a bit of a technophobe really and as good as the watch is , I found it a little hard to actually set it up , particularly trying to navigate between the apps on the watch itself but as sure I'll get used to that.
I have a Ring door bell which I have paired to the watch ...when the door bell is activated, the watch not only advises me there's someone at the door , it also displays the image from the door bells camera ...might only be a small thing to some but it amuses me .
Overall I would say if your looking for a mid-range smart watch ,you could do worse .

Finally! A Runner’s Watch
on December 27, 2024

I’ve been using a Fitbit to time / track my runs. It’s been “ok”. But it’s clumsy to start and stop and offers limited real time data during the run. After some research, I purchased a Garmin Forerunner 165. What a difference! I had no idea! I was a little concerned that the new Garmin would not be as comfortable as the Fitbit for full time wear. But, I am very pleased to say that it is just as comfortable despite its larger size compared to the Fitbit tracker. The Garmin is far better on all counts: features, real time run tracking, ease of use, GPS acquisition, sleep tracking, connection to other apps (e.g. Strava, Charity Miles, etc). I am in love with the Forerunner. Thanks. Garmin!
