I am extremely disappointed in reading these reviews as I have just started to look for a new filter. If this is the case, and Whirlpool has purposefully built a faulty product AND designed it to use a filter that runs out too quickly, is extremely expensive, and hard to find, then that seems to be close to fraudulent. I will look for another option, and if necessary, get one more filter and limit the water and ice usage until I can bet rid of this appliance until I get rid of this and buy ANOTHER MANUFACTURER's GOOD PRODUCT THAT IS HONEST AND RELIABLE.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got a brand new refrigerator in June and 3 months later the filter needs to be replaced? Trying to find one in a store is impossible!

Garbage Filter

Have only had our new fridge for a few months. It's a basement fridge and the water rarely gets used. A few weeks ago the water pressure from the door dispenser dropped significantly. Would take close to 2 minutes to fill a 16oz cup. After a bunch of troubleshooting, found that the water filter is the cause of the issue. This thing is complete trash. There's a filter on our water line, so no way the water filter is clogged. With the amount of complaints regarding this filter, how have these not been recalled yet??

Issue with this filter!

We have changed our water filter several times since our refrigerator purchase on 4-29-2024 and have the same issue each time. At first, the water flow is great. Within 6 weeks, the water flow slows down by at least half. With the water filter removed, the water flow is great and we have no problems with water flow everywhere else in the house. There are only 2 adults using the water/ice in the refrigerator. What is the issue with these filters? Is anyone looking into this problem? It is very expensive to replace them this often when they should last much longer. The filters were purchased on a whirlpool subscription and an authorized whirlpool dealer. I am seeking a solution to this issue.

Horrible Filter

Fridge is awesome. The filter is horrible. Bought the fridge end of May of 2024 and had to replace the overpriced filter by the end of July. The water is down to a trickle again at the end of September. The EDRARXD1 filter has no substitute as far as I can find. WHIRLPOOL. FIX. THIS. PROBLEM!

Water filter problems

Terrible short lived water filter and finding a stock number on the filter to get a replacement is non existent. List model number of refrigerator to find a replacement filter and over a dozen different filters match the ref model number BUT none of those filters will fit this ref. What a bummer. Even whirlpool website for this filter does not show the end of the filter to see if it will match the 3 openings in the ref to be sure it will fit. and at least 3 times more expensive than most other filters.

Defective!

I just changed my filter completely following instructions, and the water flow slowed down in a week. Now it is a trickle like some other reviews said. My last one in the fridge worked fine. And it is a brand new fridge with brand new filter! So annoying. What's wrong?!
