When they work, they're awesome.

We replaced 6 of our lights with the retrofit lights and they all worked for about 10 days and then they started to drop like flies. 3 of them will no longer turn on or respond within the app. I tried doing the rapid replacement but never heard back. I decided to buy another 4 pack to replace the 3 failed ones and hopefully I'll have better luck. The 3 that didn't fail on us still seem to be working, so hopefully I just got some duds.
They're really easy to install, since you're just screwing in a light bulb, so that's nice.
Before anyone asks, no, we don't have them hooked up to a dimmer switch.
Purchased these light to change out the can lights we already had in the kitchen. Super easy installation and they work perfect! These Retrofit Recessed light simply pushed up into the existing can light inserts ( NOT the roughed in can light without the insert ). The Retrofit Recessed lights were held perfectly in place with the attached metal clips. I had four of these lights, installed, and hooked up to the app in 10 minutes. The different light adjustments are great. Looking for more places in the house to use the GOVEE lights.
The lights work perfect and look great. However, The lights keep falling out of the ceiling. It seems that some of the lights have issues with where the springs connects to the light. We bought 2 packs of 6 and 7 out of the 12 lights have this same issue. The slot where the spring clicks into the light seems to be too big/loose and wont hold the spring in place causing the spring to come out of the light. Aside from requesting that Govee to warranty out the light and take the 50/50 chance I will get another one with the same issue, the only other option is to glue the clips into the slot on the light itself.
I have been so impressed with Govee products. I had originally planned to get a smart switch to cut down on wireless signals in the house but after seeing all the options of the Govee lights I had to get these. The install was sooo easy. If I was to give some constructive criticism it would be—CHANGE those stupid springs to hold the lights in. There has to be a better option. Also I do not know where to find the rings to fit these and block scuff and things around the hole.
When we built our home, the contractor used LES Downlights that were horrible. The desire to replace them was immediate and it wasn't until Govee released their downlight offering that we started to replace them. So far we've swapped out the 4 main fixtures in the master bedroom, two in the upstairs landing/hallway, and 2 in the stairwell. We're lacking 9 more total to complete the entire house and can't wait to get it done. The only thing that we wish was available, would be the ability to control the tempo/speed of the Dreamview/Scene effects. The usability of these features in relation with the Downlights, is obstructed by the lack of speed control. Highly recommended all the same!!
The lights are coming on 4 to 6 seconds after we hit the switch.

I put the 4 inch recess lights in 3 bedrooms and 6 inch recess lights in 1 bedroom.
The lights are coming on 4 to 6 seconds after we hit the switch, which is totally not acceptable. Please let me know if there is a way to mitigate this. I asked the electrician if there is anything that can be done, he rechecked the wiring and said there is nothing wrong with the wiring and the issue is with the smart lights. I spend the whole day yesterday on trying to fix this but was unsuccessful. Can you please reply if there is any solution to this.
