What’s up with KitchenAid microwaves??

We just purchased a home with the model that this one replaced (KMCS3022GSS2). It is exactly 5 years old (Manufactured in 2019) and it is now no longer working…one day started arching and nearly caught fire. I’ve never owned a microwave in my life that did this, let alone stop working after such a short time. Very frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

UNACCEPTABLE durability and longevity. Don't buy.

I (regrettably) purchased this microwave as part of my Toll Brothers new home appliance package for my new home in April 2019 (Jan. 2019 manufacture date) and it has ALREADY failed. Completely unacceptable given the premium 5x price tag. Other microwaves that I've owned made by competitors were MUCH more durable and were operative for a significantly longer timespan. Do better KitchenAid. Much, much better. I was previously a loyal customer given the performance of some of my other KitchenAid appliance purchases.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Miss The Previous Model

Be prepared for failure.

I've owned two KitchenAid Microwaves since 2017. They both lasted 3-4 years and then died. In both cases the paint started peeling on the inside within a short period of time. I really hesitate to buy another one. Based on reading this reviews other people have had the same issues. Very disappointed!!
