Two Things to Consider
on March 28, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this microwave because it fit into the built-in space from our previous micro. Two things we would change: Because you now have to push the stop/unlock button every time after cooking to open the door, the plastic film on that button is already 'bubbling' after one month of use. Second, it would be helpful to have the screen a little more see-thru. You can't see what's happening with the food unless you push to stop/unlock button.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works fine, so far. (Owned for only one month.) The Whirlpool MW it replaced didn’t even last two years! So we’ll see how long this one lasts.

Great features, if I knew how to utilize them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using microwaves since 1969. But my new Whirlpool has so many options that a care and use manual would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure how to use all the options available.

Solid but imperfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received as part of new home appliance package. Performance is solid, but I don't love the 2-step unlock process. I get that it's a UL requirement, but the unlock seems a little flimsy; I sense that pressing the Door Open button too forcefully while it's still in the locked position could break the mechanism.

Great size and power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good size and reasonably priced, including the optional 30” trim kit. A full 1,200 watts, it is a great improvement over our former 1,000 watt appliance. The only thing we don’t like is the “keyboard” does not illuminate. Installed above one of our two ovens in a corner, it’s hard to read the buttons without turning on all kitchen lights or using a flashlight.

Need to improve some features.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second 1200 watt Whirlpool Microwave. I do not like the following features in the new microwave:The dim light on during the cooking cycle doesn’t allow for monitoring of food as it cooks; the printed list of cooking times and settings at the top of the compartment is too high up and too small for me to read. NOT USER FRIENDLY. Suggest printing this on a card, or including in the owner’s manual.

Not as good as previous version
on April 9, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace my whirlpool microwave when we moved. I loved my microwave - it was the previous version of this one - it was 2.2 cu ft, bigger than most others, and easy to use! I'm not a fan of this one though. When I make something that boils (like pasta), all the steam collects inside and condenses - everything is wet when I open the door. My old one NEVER did that. I hate the fact that there is no number pad anymore - why complicate something that worked? It seems to show fingerprints on the unit itself more than the older version. It does still heat things well, but I preferred the defrost on the older version. Overall - meh. Liked the previous version much better. Need to call and ask about that steam issue.
