I ordered the night owl doorbell to add to my night owl IP camera NVR system. The setup was super fast and easy. It integrates with the existing setup and Night Owl Protect app with no issues. However, the video doorbell was recording to my iPhone and not the NVR. I had added the doorbell as a new device at the same place in the protect app where the NVR was added. One I realized it wasn’t part of the NVR system, I removed the doorbell from the protect app, reset the doorbell to factory settings and did the setup again, but added the doorbell from within the NVR device screen. Videos were now recording to the NVR with full NVR settings available for all camera devices which included the doorbell. My only issue so far is with the audio recording. I can’t make out any audible voices on the recordings. The sounds are very very faint. This could be better. Also, the doorbell didn’t ship with any hard copy paper manuals. I like to have paper manuals as well in case I am not near a computer or phone.

So happy that I bought this alarm system. The cameras have amazing clarity, so much better than Brinks which I was using before. I’ll definitely recommend to all my friends and family.

The only issue I have is I cannot get the doorbell to ring if I have the camera recording settings to Object detection, so I set it to let the doorbell ring and records only when the button is depressed. It seems to be a either/or setting.

Bad battery charge

Bought is a week ago and camera batteries dies in a couple of days. One of the camera batteries only last like 24 hours

good view doesnt stay connected to base to limited on range and have small ranch

How far do you have the camera from your recorder or router? This camera cannot exceed 300 ft. with line of sight. The more obstacles between the camera and base, the shorter that range will be.
