Easy to set up and use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 2-Way Audio 12 Channel DVR Security System was a little daunting for the technologically challenged, but I followed the directions and highly recommend! It is easy to use and love the security and ease of mind. I’m also enjoying seeing the night life around me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice video security system

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This video camera security system has been pretty nice so far. Out of the box, it seemed like it should be pretty easy to set up once I determine how I'd place my cameras.
This is a wired system, meaning you must run wires to/from each camera to its main hub. I do wish there was a wireless option since I don't want to run wires all around my home. This limited me in where I'd place my cameras. It is nice that they provide the harnesses for the plugs so you can tie it all into one plug. I was able to network the main hub into my router. It was a little difficult getting things to connect and sync with the app on my phone. After a few tries I was connected.
I do feel the cameras are a little lacking in the viewing space. They should be more of a wide angle view because when you mount these, there are blind spots below and to the sides of the camera. This was a little disappointing as I couldn't get a full view of my driveway and garage. Other than that, the camera quality is good, picks up sound and motion like you want with a security system.
I'd recommend this to someone who was fine running wires, I feel it may be more suited for a business than a home but it is adequate for either. I'd like to see the option to add wireless cameras to reduce running wires thru walls and such. Overall it does the job and I have been happy with it since installing.

Positives of this product are that the color and picture clarity is good. Easy to install, connects to both monitor and phone app.
Negatives of this product is that video relay to screen is a little delayed and the wide angle distortion starts to far from the camera for our needs.

Short Life Hard Drive

I bought this one in March of 2024. It was easy to set up and worked great till July of 2025. The hard Drive went out and was making a low tone noise. I thought I had upgraded but it went out way too soon.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing Audio and Video Quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Night Owl 2K HD DVR Security System for about a month and I really like the sense of security, it gives me. This security set included 4 Cameras, which I set up on each side of my home and it also came with a 1TB DVR, so I can save a ton of recordings, without worrying about a monthly fee. Setting up this security system, was easy and only took around an hour to do so. I really love that I can connect this system, directly to my TV and have live access 24/7. There's also a mobile app that allows me to view live video, but I found the app to be a little more inconvenient, than it was convenient. I only had notifications set for Human and Vehicle detection, but I kept receiving multiple notifications a day for animals, clouds and shadows, being detected as humans. I still occasionally use the app, but I now have notifications turned off. Another issue I ran into is the siren feature. I was really excited about this feature! I could make people aware of the fact, that they were being recorded and being able to possibly prevent things from being taken from my property, was like a dream feature! Unfortunately, the siren was going off, all day and night, from any type of movement. The cameras are definitely great quality and I love that they're multi-functional. They come with built in spotlights, very clear 2-way Audio and beautiful clear videos, during both day and night! Even though I'm not very fond of the app and the siren wasn't what I'd hoped for. I'm very happy with my Night Owl Security System and the peace of mind, it gives my family and myself!

NOT A GOOD UPGRADE

I upgraded this system from c20x version because of the audio aspect. I thought you would be able to export all 8 hours(for example) to a usb drive like the c20x version.. NOPE Its only by events. You cant even select multiple events at a time. Its just one at a time. THIS IS A HUGE SOFTWARE FLAW! FIX THIS!

The DVR is working great. Only have one negative comment. The unit supports 10 cameras. I am using 6. I cannot find a way to disable the other 4 unused cameras and they fill one third of the TV screen with unused blank camera spaces. Other than that a good security system.
