Okay Keyboard - Cheap Case - meh company
on October 2, 2024

I am kind of confused by my mind with this thing, the Keyboard fells okay and the Software behind it is also working good -ish (i have encountered a lot of iOS bugs that forced me to restart my phone and stuff). what keeps me far away from liking clicks as i would want to is that the case for the 14 Pro Max itself is at the edge of being AliExpress Cheap. The Keys and grippad feel nice, but the case does not, especially at the Power and Volume Buttons. really disappoint for 150 Money

Great gimmick, not worth the price
on October 2, 2024

We were off to a bad start when the shipping took way longer than they said. The lack of communication around delays didn’t help this. I thought ‘No, this will be worth it!’ but that optimism was short lived.
After 1 month of use these are my major points about this case.
The keyboard is ok, it lags often enough to be a pain. It’s worse when I haven’t used my phone for an hour or so and go to type and I get no response for a couple of seconds. There are also some important keys missing, no % or * keys which I use often and find myself needing to using the on screen keyboard for. The keys themselves have a very nice tactile feel to them.
The shortcuts are great and I really appreciate that they continue to improve on the experience through updates.
The quality of the case itself is mediocre, not what you would expect given the price tag. The silicone is loose around the power and volume buttons on the phone as well as around the charging port on the case. The faux leather panel on the back has already started wearing on a couple of corners. Again, not great given I’ve only been using this for 1 month.
An important point for creators is that the port doesn’t support plug in wireless mics.
Overall I think this has potential to be a great product and I hope they continue to improve the quality and user experience. As it stands for now I just don’t think the mediocre product aligns with the premium price tag.

It’s ok…

I had been wanting one for a long time & once mine came, I tried to return it 2 days later. They will charge you to return it. It’s a cool concept but makes your phone very long & there is a random yellow box that pops up when you’re supposed to be typing & half the time it doesn’t type. Save your money, I wish I would have.

Unusably Uncomfortable

I really don't fit this keyboard, the ergonomics are terrible for me.
Basically my thumbs are max down and max out. They need to put more space on the outside of the keys, that way my thumbs aren't constantly strained.
Also, the phone is very very top-heavy, so that constrains my hand position. Big hands beware lol.

High quality product, interesting concept but not without issues

I will only comment on the product and not the ordering experience which turned out to be quite bad.
Clicks is a high quality product that delivers a fully functional keyboard to the iPhone. A software application is also available for various tweaks and settings as well as firmware updates.
I have been using Clicks for about a week, getting used to it is easy, certainly easier for me as a former BlackBerry user! However, the experience is not quite the same. Perhaps the reason is that I am trying to balance my huge and heavy iPhone 14 Pro Max while typing on Clicks and this is not an easy task, no matter how you hold Clicks. I expect that the typing experience is better on a smaller iPhone.
I have also discovered a few glitches, such as Clicks not responding at all within an app, having to close the app and restart it. I am also using Clicks mode, having configured many keyboard shortcuts for opening apps as well as for navigating around my phone. These work most of the time but occasionally they don’t.
Clicks does help improve your typing accuracy but does not really improve your typing speed. I still have and use my BlackBerry Key2 and typing on the Key2 is considerably faster. This is probably due to the uneven weight distribution (especially with an iPhone Pro Max) but also probably due to the stiffness of the Clicks keys, compared to that of both Key1 and Key2.
To summarise: don’t expect a BlackBerry experience, be prepared for glitches and bugs and … for some aching fingers if using an iPhone Pro Max!

Mixed feelings

Great concept, but it is quite bottom heavy once installed and should have a balancing weight at the top.
Software functionality could be improved as well - e.g. the space bar when held down should convert to a floating cursor like on the iPhone which is a major feature that I miss!

Needs some things fixed

The worst part about this.. is if you’re on a call.. people can hear you type!!!!
How embarrassing.
Also the keyboard does not work in tik tok lives, nor will the iPhone keyboard pop up on with the case on in tik tok lives.

I love the idea but maybe not for me.

I was so excited to revieve this and i still love this idea but the buttons are a bit too small for me, especially if i have longer nails on its almost impossible to type. Could be something to get used to as well but for the price i wanted to be IN LOVE and i wasnt. If it ever gets created with larger buttons, even if just by a little, i would buy and try it again.
