[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Frigidaire Under Cabinet Hood is functional, but the design could be better. The controls are simple to use and it works as advertised. There are two things which I don't like about it. First, the installation of the charcoal filter screens uses substandard parts in my opinion. There are small metal rods to hold the filters in place, and if that's all they had to do it would be fine, but they also have to hold the filters below the fan unit, which they can barely do. The fan unit itself is plastic and is not completely flat as it rotates, which causes it to rub against the filters, which adds to the noise of the unit and isn't good for the lifespan of the components. It took me many attempts to get the filters set properly so they didn't rub against the fan unit. Just another 1/8"-1/4" inch clearance inside could have solved this problem, or stronger metal cross pieces to avoid contact between the filter and the fan unit. The second issue is the overall noise of the unit. On low or medium, the noise level is acceptable. On high, the unit sounds like a jet engine taking off. Having previously owned a high quality (commercial kitchen grade) hood, this one is not nearly as good. That said, it does function to remove odors and smoke from the cooking area.
