I bought a K-Classic several years ago and got great service out of it. I think the pump finally went out. I decided to purchase a K Compact this time, and got a great price on it.
I noticed that the first cup of coffee had a strange odor, I found that if I ran clear water through it then made a cup of coffee it was fine. After a couple days of this I decided to call customer service. I was told to run a reservoir of water with 2 to 3 Tbsp. of vinegar through the maker. I follow the instrs. (I probably use more, just poured some in). Then ran two reservoirs of clear water, and this morning my first cup was good.
